The 3000 Club’s MOM (Market on the Move) is a fantastic community outreach. This program offers something of value for everyone in the community. It is a group buying program. The program relies on volume to continue serving an area. We need lots of people to come out and take advantage of this. The produce is received in bulk and trucked up to our community in a semi-truck. The more people that p
articipate, the more sustainable the program is. This event is literally for everyone that eats veggies/fruit (or knows someone that does) and likes to save money. Mayer really needs this. We are considered a produce desert, meaning that there is no easy access to grocery stores. Most residents live at least 30 minutes away from a store with fresh produce. People who can’t travel because of money or health concerns are limited to small market stores, convenience stores like Circle K or stores like Dollar General or Family Dollar that have processed, packaged foods but no fresh produce. Though some fruits and veggies are provided with community donation programs, that produce is limited and must be used quickly because it is usually close to being spoiled. This program provides an abundance of produce. We NEED volunteers. The food disbursement takes a lot of human labor to unload the semi trailer, sort and hand out. In order to do this, we need lots of people to show up to help. It is active work and there is something to do for every age and every level of strength. Because of the diverse crowd being served and crew of volunteers and the active work, the atmosphere is upbeat and a lot of fun. Here are some quick program points.

-There is a job for everyone. This is a SUPER Volunteer project for the entire family!
-For those in High School needing credits for serving in the community, this is a fun way to be part of a team!
-Everyone gets lots of healthy food regardless of their income! Thank you, for helping us spread the word!
