"We started the day out with egg bake and cinnamon rolls. After that, we rolled into the main session, where we covered the storms that God lets / helps us face. Great message and amazing worship with the students. Free time included gym games, indoor pool (hot tub too!), game room, archery tag, snack shop, pedal boats, and mini golf. We later had PROGRAM TIME which were little stations where groups would hear a message about the theme for this weekend from the collage leaders at this camp. Then game the BIG GAME. This is the part where students had crazy fun. We played the game β€œCapture the Flag,” and Group 9 won that. We had chicken fajitas and rice for dinner, and afterwards in the main session we talked about the storms that we make for ourselves. Students had crazy fun during the after hours tonight and that pretty much sums up our fantastic day." -Sloan Riibe & Reagan Holtrop

It was a blessing to see God at work in the lives of these leaders and students today!

We arrived safe and sound, full of pizza, ready to begin the Middle School Retreat! We were able to get settled in our rooms briefly before heading to the first main session. The first main session focused on the life and task of Noah in Genesis. We will be walking through and focusing on 3 kinds of storms this weekend. The first being storms brought on by others. Noah was described as blameless and righteous, and his whole world changed due to a literal storm. This storm occurred as a result of the brokenness and evil of others that was present on the earth. Noah no doubt faced significant challenges, but was faithful and held fast to God. He trusted and obeyed. The worship was so great, and so much praise was lifted to God! πŸ™Œ We unpacked the main session in youth group time, hearing a couple personal stories of storms from leaders and spent time in Scripture and discussion in small groups. The night concluded with after hours free time. Then lights out and bed time! Continue to be in prayer for hearts to be softened, transformed and surrendered to Jesus this weekend. πŸ™ He has so much more in store for us this weekend!
-Jon Eveland

Anchor verse for session 1:
"But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.'" -2 Corinthians 12:9
