We want to thank each and everyone who supported Jennifer’s Foundation over the last 20 years. There is no way to fully express our gratitude. Your generosity through the years has been greatly influential in accomplishing the mission of Jennifer’s Foundation.
Through August 28, 2021, the JL Foundation has given $2,036,312.66 in assistance to 773 leukemia patients. On August 31, 2021, the JL Foundation was closed.
The JL Foundation was founded in memory of Jennifer Christine Leslie in March of 2002. She touched the lives of so many who strongly wished to keep her memory alive.
Jennifer was diagnosed on September 11, 1986 with CML a chronic form of leukemia when she was a senior in high school at the age of 16. The Doctor’s gave her one to three years to live. She needed a Bone Marrow Transplant but unfortunately her sisters were not matches and an unrelated donor was not found. After a long search a donor was found and she had her transplant August 8, 2001. Jennifer passed away on September 4, 2001, three weeks shy of her 32nd birthday.
The mission of the Foundation was to relieve one of the many stressful factors that patients and their families face. The JL Foundation helped leukemia patients and their families with monthly reimbursement for gas and meals.
We are also very proud that 100% of every dollar the Foundation received went directly to our patients. Bob and Janet Leslie paid the expenses to operate the Foundation and work out of a home office with no overhead or administrative salaries
