Rotaract

is a Rotary-sponsored service club for young men and women ages 18 to 30. Rotaract clubs are usually community-based or university-based and are sponsored by a local Rotary club making them true “partners in service” and key members of the Rotary family. Through the Rotaract program, young adults address the physical and social needs of their communities while promoting international understanding and peace through a framework of friendship and service. All Rotaract efforts begin at the local grassroots level and all Rotaract clubs have access the many resources of Rotary International and The Rotary Foundation. As one of the most significant and fastest-growing programs of Rotary service, with more than 7,500 Rotaract clubs in some 155 countries, Rotaract has become a worldwide phenomenon. Members of Rotaract are encouraged to join Rotary upon either reaching the age of requirement (30) or gaining the familiarity and experience needed to make that transition. The Rotaract Club of Maumee meets twice each month, the first and third Tuesday at 6:00pm, at various locations within Maumee. In addition to meeting attendance, members can expect to participate in seasonal service work, such as shopping for Christmas toys and landscaping in the summer. This Club also holds an annual bowling fundraiser in May of each year, the Spring Strike-Out, which takes months of planning and obtaining sponsorships. Social events are also held throughout the year, as a chance to celebrate the hard work and success this group accomplishes.
