Thanks to Bruce Ray Hartsell we got the door fixed on the Blessing Box!! We will be working the next few days to get it stocked up and going!!

The Blessing Box is still located at the Maud City Park!

Remember:

A Blessing Box is a “Little Free Pantry”, which provides non perishable food (like cereal, canned soup/pasta, bottled water, box meals, granola bars) as well as hygiene items (including shampoo, soap, toothbrushes/toothpaste and toilet paper) to local residents when they need them.

Miscellaneous items alllowed:

We will trial run allowing school supplies items (pens, pencils, spiral notebooks, notebook paper, index cards, folders). Used school supplies items accepted as long as they are neatly bagged (ziplock) and placed in the box. Pencils/pens bagged etc. If this creates a mess inside or outside the box, we will ask for them to not be placed. (This is to allow parents and students supplies at home to study/do homework)

Other items include feminine hygiene items, baby items such as wipes/diapers, dog food/cat food.

Please do not place opened or expired food in the blessing box!!

The hand sanitizer is in there for you to use while using the box! We will figure out how to attach some wipes or spray for disinfecting the handle.

We will keep backstock at our home to refill the box if you'd like to donate that way. Audrey will put a donation box (Rubbermaid tote) out beside the mailbox. Our address is 306 Milam Street, Maud Texas 75567

Throughout the year, do not donate the following to a Blessing Box:
• Open or partially used items
• Rusty or unlabeled cans
• Homemade or home-canned foods
• Glass because of breakage
• Food in torn cardboard boxes
• Food in torn plastic packaging
• Perishable items - NO raw meats, eggs, dairy, fresh breads
• Alcoholic beverages
• Dented, bent, leaking, or bulging cans
• Any packaged food past its “best by,” “use by,” or “sell by” date
• Any packaged food with damaged tamper-resistant seals
• Re-packaged foods
• No fresh fruits or vegetables (we will possibly do a farm stand this summer)

Suggested food items for the Blessing Boxes during most of the year listed
below.

• Canned soups and sauces
• Canned Meat (Tuna, Chicken, etc.)
• Peanut butter, nuts, and alternatives, Almond Butter, Sunflower Seed Butter, Coconut Butter, etc.
• Beans, canned, especially garbanzo, chili, & baked beans
• Rice, white or brown
• Pasta (preferably in boxes)
• Cereals/instant oatmeal packets
• Crackers/granola bars
• Canned diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, & tomato paste*
• Canned Fruits, Canned Vegetables
• Condiments (ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, mayo)
• Jelly, pancake syrup
• Baking and Pancake Mixes
• Microwave meals/to-go meals and shelf-stable meal kits
• Individual serving size items
• Infant formula, dry infant cereal
• Package protein drinks
• Dried fruit

Other items needed -
Shampoo/Conditioner/Combs/Brushes
Toilet paper
Feminine care Pads/Regular Tampons
Toothbrush/Toothpaste
Deodorant
Razors
Hand soap, dish soap, bath soap, hand sanitizer
Laundry detergent
Gloves/Hats/Scarves
Baby supplies (wipes, diapers, etc.)
