Dr. Blondean Y. Davis is an iconic, nationally recognized educational leader, systemic reformer, and executive based in Illinois. She has dedicated over 50 years to urban education, serving as the Matteson School District 162 Superintendent since 2002 and the founding pro bono CEO of Southland College Preparatory Charter High School since 2010.

Dr. Davis’s commitment to uplifting youth extends far past local school district lines. For years, she leveraged her platform within CPS to serve as the chairperson for the employee campaign of the United Negro College Fund (UNCF) [uncf.org]. Her mobilizing strategies helped raise over $10 million for the fund, personally opening the doors to higher education for more than 4,000 students of color across the nation [uncf.org]. Her championing of Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) reached a historic milestone when she was elected as the Chair of the Board of Trustees at Tougaloo College in Mississippi, making her the first woman to lead the institution's board in its storied history.
