Today, we’re honored to share another story that tells a piece of Ellie’s legacy. 💙

Second Wave Media shared the story of Bronson Mothers’ Milk Bank and the incredible life-sustaining work they do for babies and families who need donor milk.

For us, this story is deeply personal.

After Ellie was born stillborn, my milk came in just days later. I was pumping simply because I couldn’t bear the thought of pouring away something that my daughter’s body had helped create. At first, donating it felt almost impossible. It felt like I was giving away the last pieces of Ellie.

But then I learned that her milk could help fragile babies survive.

I donated the milk I had stored, and in doing so, I found a small piece of purpose in the middle of an unimaginable loss. The team at Bronson Mothers’ Milk Bank gave me something I desperately needed at that moment: the feeling that Ellie mattered to someone other than me.

That experience is one of the many things that continues to shape Through Ellie’s Eyes.

Ellie may not have had the chance to grow up, but her legacy continues to touch lives. Her story continues to open conversations. And the love I have for her continues to become something that can help other families.

We are so incredibly honored to share that Through Ellie’s Eyes has been featured by Second Wave Media. 💙

This article shares the story behind Ellie, why Through Ellie’s Eyes was created, and the reason we are so passionate about supporting families who receive a life-limiting diagnosis during pregnancy and have to navigate the unimaginable “in-between” of loving their baby while preparing to say goodbye.

Ellie’s story changed our lives forever. Out of our grief came a mission: to make sure other families don’t feel as alone as we did.

Through Ellie’s Eyes exists to remember these babies, support their families, and remind parents that their babies’ lives matter — no matter how long they were here.

If anyone wants something crafty to do Saturday, the foundation and Oakland Drive Church are holding a Pop-Up event (with free childcare) at Holy Grounds Coffee Shop 4-6pm. We are just asking for help to make bracelets, crochet baby hats, write letters, make clay magnets, and pack self-care bags. Everything made goes into our custom curated Grace in Grief boxes sent to families who either will be losing or have lost their babies. Free coffee drinks as well!

Through Ellie’s Eyes was founded in November 2025 in memory of Eleanor Grace Mohney, a beautiful Trisomy 18 warrior whose 268 days of life in the womb created a legacy that continues to reach families today. Her story became the heartbeat behind this mission — one rooted in compassion, remembrance, and the belief that every life, no matter how brief, matters deeply.

Our mission is to support families navigating life-limiting prenatal diagnoses through compassion-filled grief boxes, remembrance photography services, support resources, and advocacy for families who received a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis.

Our vision is a world where no grieving parent feels unseen or alone, and where every child leaves a lasting impact — regardless of how long they were here.

Through Ellie’s Eyes exists to bring light into some of the darkest moments a family can face. We walk alongside families not only through diagnosis and loss, but through the lifelong grief and love that follows. Whether you volunteer, donate, or simply share our mission, you are helping us reach families with hope, support, and remembrance right when they need it most.

Today, we delivered our very first Grace in Grief Boxes to Bronson Hospital, officially beginning our partnership to provide support, comfort, and resources to families facing the journey of a life-limiting prenatal diagnosis.

What makes today even more meaningful is that it comes almost exactly one year after we walked these same halls, met with this same Perinatal Palliative Care team, and received Eleanor's diagnosis of Trisomy 18.

One year ago, we were the family desperately searching for hope, guidance, and someone who understood.

Today, we've come full circle.

Now, we have the privilege of being the family that helps carry others through those same unimaginable moments.

Partnering with Bronson is especially close to our hearts because this is where our story began. We are incredibly honored to work alongside the physicians, nurses, social workers, and Perinatal Palliative Care team to ensure families know they are never alone.

Pictured are just some of the women behind this mission. Not pictured are our incredible board members Samantha Knapp and Julie Warner. Five women, united by the love of one little girl, working to make a difference in the lives of families walking this difficult road.
