Honoring and celebrating the impact of Black male educators across Greater Boston! 💙

This Saturday, the He Is Me Institute will bring together educators, families, and community leaders for an afternoon of connection, celebration, and legacy building. Special shout out to our very own Malcolm Cawthorne for the incredible work he continues to do in support of students, families, and educational equity. Representation matters, leadership matters, and spaces like this remind us of the power of community.

Come out, connect, and celebrate!

🕊️💜 Honoring the Legacy of Frances Y. Dennis 💜🕊️

A true pillar in the METCO community, Frances Y. Dennis dedicated her life to educational opportunity, advocacy, and uplifting generations of students and families.

At her funeral service, METCO received a standing ovation during the resolution portion of the program — a powerful reminder of the impact her life and legacy had across our communities.

Her work and commitment were recognized by the City of Boston, Michelle Wu, Liz Miranda, and Ruthzee Louijeune.

From newspaper features highlighting her family’s METCO journey to the countless lives she touched personally, her legacy will continue to live on through the students, families, and communities she inspired. ✨

Rest peacefully, Ms. Dennis. Your impact will never be forgotten. 💜

✨ 137+ students. 33 districts. One unforgettable day. ✨

On May 29, the MDA brought together over 137 middle school students from 33 METCO districts for a day of leadership, team building, personal growth, and community at the Ron Burton Training Village.

From building new friendships to strengthening leadership skills, our students showed up, stepped up, and represented their districts with pride.

Thank you to our METCO Directors, chaperones, volunteers, and the incredible RBTV staff for making this experience possible.

The future is bright, and it’s in great hands. ✨

💚 Men’s Mental Health Month 💚

Throughout Men’s Mental Health Month, the METCO Directors’ Association encourages open conversations around mental health, wellness, and emotional well-being.

Too often, men and boys are taught to suffer in silence, hide their emotions, or carry struggles alone. This month serves as an important reminder that mental health is health, vulnerability is strength, and asking for help is a sign of courage, not weakness.

We must continue creating spaces where men feel seen, heard, supported, and empowered to speak openly about their experiences without fear or stigma.

Checking in on yourself and one another can make a meaningful difference.

🧠 Real Men. Real Talk. Real Support. Real Change.
