Tonight three dogs are sleeping a lot tighter in nice, warm houses. While delivering dog food, I was asked to re-home two outdoor dogs on chains and a small dog in a kennel. Their owner realized it was best to to give them up before the storm and frigid temperatures. While it was hard for them to let go, I am forever grateful they entrusted me with their care and even more grateful to Elizabeth and Julia for stepping up and being their fosters. These dogs world forever changed today. Rescue gives you a certain high that fuels the addiction to keep doing it over and over. Today was one of those days. It was a win for these dogs and Almost Heaven Animal Rescue. 💕 🐾

Six more this week! Chipping away at the numbers. Most have been males this week. Have some savvy females who are going to make me work for it! 🐾 Much gratitude to Anicira Veterinary Center for working with us to get them in as soon as they are trapped!

Another productive week! Four more trapped and altered! Hitting it again next week. This is the time to get those females spayed and prevent spring litters. 🐈

Eight more got their second chance this morning! ❤️. Thanks to foster Debbie, we had a very early morning transport into NOVA! All eight were abandoned and left to fend for themselves. Much gratitude to fosters Connie and Karen as well. 2026 is your year, sweet babies! 🐱

Foster baby Marshall is feeling a little under the weather for Christmas festivities. He is getting a check up and some meds to get him on the mend for Santa Paws!

Another productive day… Two ferals live trapped and neutered and Freya, one of AHAR’s fosters, was spayed! Many lives saved by these three alterations! A huge thank you to Sue Ryan and Debbie Reeves for helping with the morning drop offs! 🐾

The best Christmas gift 🎁 happened yesterday and today when Almost Heaven was able to move two dogs and eight cats to our two partner rescues in NOVA. These 10 animals were in a hopeless situation and proof that miracles do happen. They will receive the gift of finding forever families and for that we are grateful. 🌲 Thank you to our fosters Connie and Karen as well as Pete and Debbie for their sleigh rides into the city!
