Applications for 2027 are now open — deadline to apply is October 31.

A program of the Kansas Arts Commission, the Tallgrass Artist Residency invites artists of all disciplines to spend 10 days making work in and in dialogue with the Flint Hills tallgrass prairie ecosystem.

Residents are selected through a juried process with changing members each year. The application process is free and entirely online. Visit our website (link in bio) for more information.

Our good friends at Rommey Farms! ❤️🌸🐝🍯🐝🌸❤️

Happy Wacky Wednesday just an update, we split our hive and the bees are bringing in lots of pollen from the Black-Eyed Susans, Purple Prairie-Clover,Bee Balm and Wild Bergamot.

BeeCheck registry is a voluntary online mapping tool designed to connect beekeepers and commercial pesticide applicators to help protect honey bee colonies from chemical drift. Registering with Driftwatch, Beecheck, Cropcheck and Fieldcheck platforms communicate with many producers.

In our early days of beekeeping it wasn't uncommon to see Susan out with her white flag waving around. We're still here for your local honey needs and look forward to seeing everyone this fall after extraction at the El Dorado Farmer's Market.

We need your help. Matfield Green Works only works because of donations. The Ard Family Foundation pays for maintenance at The Green, and a Dept of Commerce grant paid for our new garden, but everything else relies on donations; construction, water, toilet paper, hand sanitizer, insurance...People are using The Green every day, which we truly love, but we are struggling to make ends meet. We also want to start renovation of The Bank, across the street, and that is going to need some big donations, but for now we could sure use some help with the day-to-day expenses. Know that your donation goes a long way, and any amount makes a difference. You can make online donations here https://matfieldgreen.org/donate/ or send a check to 102A N Reed St, Matfield Green, KS 66862. Thank you and come visit!
