The International 22q11.2 Foundation Our mission is to improve the quality of life for individuals affected by chromosome 22q11.2 differences through family and professional partnerships.

The International 22q11.2 Foundation is working to empower and support families. We are campaigning for early detection and newborn screening. We are dedicated to spreading awareness. Through community events such as our annual 22q at Zoo, Worldwide Awareness Day, 22k for 22q events around the globe, and our Same Name Campaign we are bringing much needed public attention to 22q11.2 syndromes. We p

rovide support through our global Family Support Network, professional connections, guidance and resources. We sponsor family and professional educational conferences so that families have the most up to date research available.

The International 22q11.2 Foundation is incredibly grateful to be part of the 14th Biennial International 22q11.2 Society Scientific Meeting.

Day one of learning about the latest research in has been nothing short of inspiring!

What an incredible opportunity to come together and see researchers, clinicians, advocates, and parent organizations united with one shared goal: improving the lives of individuals and families affected by 22q11.2 deletion syndrome.

The collaboration, innovation, and commitment to advancing research, clinical care, and family support are truly inspiring. We’re honored to be part of these important conversations and look forward to the discoveries and connections the rest of the meeting will bring.

Today, and every day, we celebrate the strong, resilient, and devoted fathers, grandfathers, stepfathers, brothers, uncles, mentors, and caregivers who walk the journey of 22q11.2 differences with unwavering love and determination. Your support, advocacy, and endless dedication to individuals with 22q—of all ages—shine as a beacon of hope and strength.

Through every challenge and every milestone, you are the steady foundation families rely on. Your sacrifices, perseverance, and unconditional love embody the true spirit of fatherhood and compassionate care.

To all the fathers and remarkable men facing unique challenges alongside their loved ones, please know that your dedication is seen, your struggles are honored, and your love is deeply felt. You are appreciated beyond words.

Puberty Series…… This newest series in Health Conditions Explained talks about body changes, behavioral challenges, and sexual health concerns that teenagers may have. We are also providing links to additional resources to help parents talk to their teens about various issues.

Many thanks to Joanne Loo, PhD, Programmatic and Educational Tool Developer and Natalie Blagowidow, MD, Obstetrician/Gynecologist for developing and reviewing the Puberty Series. We also thank Samantha D’Arcy, MHSc, RD, Registered Dietitian; Nikolai Gil D. Reyes, MD, Neurologist; and Maude Schneider, PhD, Psychologist and Psychotherapist for reviewing specific subtopics.
