MBSpay&Neuter4Ferals Organization in Mastic Beach devoted to TNR rescue & education for cats

MB Spay&Neuter4Ferals was formed to develop a community TNR program for Mastic Beach Village on Long Island. Our goal is to humanely trap, neuter (spay) and release as many stray and feral cats in our streets thus by over-time decreasing our cat population the humane way. We invite all members of our community and neighborhood to get involved with this important cause, especially the animal lovers

of our Village. We hope to make a positive impact for both our neighbors and the animals and set an example for other communities on LI to follow suit.

Our Table will be located behind the Village Gazebo off Neighborhood Road, near the Nutrition Center this Saturday between 10-4. We hope you can stop by! Raffle tickets sold throughout, drawings at 3pm... Winter Cat Shelter Workshop @ 2pm at our Table... a fun Kids Cat Craft and candy @ 1PM at our Table (we'll have the craft available to make from noon on for any kids that stop by as well!)... Plus many informative handouts and other fun stuff. We're looking forward to meeting everyone!

Now is the time of year you want to ensure to start getting shelters ready for your outside cats or any cats you've rescued that you feed outdoors. We will be hoping to post soon a link and or email of someone that is donating a few shelters to us to raffle off on Saturday; for a few dollars she can make you a shelter if you need. We'll also be showing you on Sat during a workshop on how you can make your own outdoor weather proof shelters, so stop by our table and say hi. Maybe we will considering having a 'best' cat shelter contest so our community members can show off their own shelter handy and creative work! Happy Sheltering!

Just a reminder that Saturday is our first event and we'd love to see some of you there! Mastic Beach on Neighborhood Rd @ The annual Harvest Festival. We will have a table and be doing all sort of fun and informative things! For the kids, we will be hosting a cat craft and some games where they can win prizes. We'll also have handouts on TNR, a workshop and some great raffles all which will go towards our goal of spaying and neuturing our communities stray & feral cats. 10am - 4pm Sat Oct 15th. We hope to see you there. It will be a fun day!

Our community has an immediate need for fosters or adopters. 3-4 kittens (eating solid foods, about 4-5 months of age) have possibly been abandon by the people originally feeding/caring for them and their mom. Mom cat has been no where in sight but she had gotten spayed prior (after this liter0 by someone in our neighborhood. The neighbors have stepped up to do the right thing and feed these kitte...ns but they will be heading to FL for the winter months and these kittens will be left with no food and out in the cold to fend for themselves. They are right here in our town (Mastic Beach Village). If anyone can provide a foster for them or may be interested in adopting a new family member, we will have their pictures up here soon and also at our table on Sat. Thank you for caring and for helping your community.
