Theodore Roosevelt Council BSA

Theodore Roosevelt Council BSA Delivering the Scouting program to all youth in Nassau County. The Theodore Roosevelt Council, 386 is a local council of Scouting America.

It is one of the nation's oldest, having been home to its namesake, the former US President, who was a founding member of Scouting. The council was established in 1917 and was originally named the Nassau County Council. Although Nassau County was the primary residence of Theodore Roosevelt, the Theodore Roosevelt name was taken by another council in Arizona. That council was merged into the Grand

Canyon Council in 1993, freeing the name, and the Nassau County Council assumed the Theodore Roosevelt name in September 1997.

For the first time ever, Scouting America Long Island is offering bus transportation from the Doucette Scout Leadership Center in Massapequa to both Baiting Hollow Scouts BSA Day Camp and Cub Scout Day Camp.

Baiting Hollow Scouts BSA Day Camp will take place August 3–7, 2026, and families now have the option of convenient round-trip transportation each day from Massapequa.

This new transportation option makes camp more accessible for families and provides a convenient, reliable way for Scouts to enjoy all that summer camp has to offer.

Bus service will include both pick-up and drop-off in Massapequa. Space is limited and seats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Don't wait to register. Seats are limited, and we expect this service to fill quickly as summer camp approaches.

Day Camp is an unforgettable adventure packed with outdoor fun and new experiences! Campers enjoy archery, BB shooting, swimming, boating, hands
