Under his wings, we’ll find refuge.

His wings are for us to hide under, as well as securing and healing us. This is what he promised us for future life. This is how much compassion and love God has for us. He’s literally having us under his wing as a little hideout, protecting us from what the Devil is attacking with. He rescues us from the “snares of men” and every plague and virus.
Whatever is going through something, hide under his wings, he will protect you. This is a time to come together and seek the refuge under the wings of protection.

A few years ago, I was able to take a trip to Israel. I walked where Jesus walked || saw seas where Jesus traveled || places miracles occurred || the garden before the betrayal || rocks where the cross was drove into || All of those images led to one thing. A death where my Savior took my pain || my mistakes || my sins || I never understood why today was called Good Friday, but that’s the thing about this love story: the love never stopped for us and The King wasn’t stopping here.

Take a look at the first three pictures. What do you see?
Now take a look at the last 3. Wasn’t what you were expecting were they?
Sometimes in life, we need to take a step back and look at things from a different perspective. What we see and what God sees, is 2 totally different things. It’s hard to see what is actually going to be pulled out of hat when your just an audience member. Sometimes, it’s what you expect, like a rabbit. Others, is something we never imagined like a monkey, but the magician knew. The magician is God in this case. He knows what is going to be pulled, but until we take a step back and see that bigger picture, we’re all going to be put down time and time again.

In the sermon this past Sunday, Trevor was talking about how Jesus is the Messiah. The people were looking for a big strong person to lead them against the Romans, and when he showed up, they weren’t who they expected to see. They didn’t realize that days later, He would die for them.

Read that again; refuse to let the world corrupt you.
I believe God is trying to speak this onto us heavily, I mean we live in a world where you don’t know who to listen to on the media, or someone is telling you to dress or act a certain way to fit in, or how you have to play sports or be smart and if your anything in between your the outcast. School can be so amazing if you chose to let it be. Right now we’re all stuck at home, so we really don’t have to pay attention to any of that, but for some reason, we still do. In a deeper understanding of this, God is telling us that He is in control, that you must refuse to listen to anyone’s words than His own, because in the end, He is the only thing that matters, reaching to that goal; so if you can ignore the world, than you will become His world.

He said to them, “Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?” - Mark 4:40.

In this time with the coronavirus, I think the story of the Jesus calming the storm is a perfect metaphor for the world. We’re all on a boat, convinced we’re dying, and it feels like Jesus is just... taking a nap.

However, Jesus heard the cries of his disciples, got up, and calmed the storm. He then replied with this: Why are you so afraid? Have you still no faith?

I don’t think we should miss that the disciples panicked. That they were afraid. Just because they had Jesus did not mean they didn’t endure hardship.

But Christ was there at the end of our hardship, and he will still be there at the end of ours. While the world may seem stuck in this utter chaos, this storm, if you will, Christ has not forgotten us.

It’s important, in fearful times such as these, to cling to faith. I think it’s okay to admit we’re scared, so long as we remember Christ is bigger than COVID-19. He saw us into this, and He will see us through it.
