As America marks 250 years of history, we are reminded that some of our nation’s greatest moments have been accompanied by prayer. Throughout times of war, uncertainty, hardship, and national challenge, believers have sought God’s help, wisdom, and direction. While leaders, laws, and institutions have played important roles in our history, our greatest hope has never been found in human strength alone—it has always been found in the Lord.
Today, America still needs prayer.
Pray for our families. Pray for our churches. Pray for our communities. Pray for those who lead our nation. Most of all, pray that hearts would turn to God and that His truth would be honored once again. As we celebrate America’s 250th birthday, let us remember that the future of our nation depends not merely on what happens in government buildings, but on what happens in the hearts of God’s people.
“If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.” — 2 Chronicles 7:14
