Trump has a pattern: when the heat gets too close, put a woman in front of the cameras.

A new female press secretary takes the podium. Ill prepared and unpolished.
Susan Dell appears in a feel-good broadcast. Barbara Thornhill gets the spotlight. And suddenly, the headlines shift away from Trump’s dangerous words, actions, scandals, and controversies.

His new press secretary spoke the day after a woman was reportedly smacked around fornwwaring a teeshirt that said ' release the Epstein files'.
Susan Dell appeared publicly the day after Trump made remarks about Iran potentially striking Los Angeles and San Diego.

Trump knows exactly how this works. He knows the public will dissect a woman’s looks, question her intelligence, scrutinize her education, and debate her qualifications. Meanwhile, the men at the center of serious allegations and controversies can slip out of the spotlight.

Women become the story, while the men who created the chaotic s**t storm, escape ever having to answer for any of it. 

It’s a convenient distraction: put a woman in front of the cameras, let the public tear her apart, redirect the news cycle, and give the man at the top some breathing room.
It's old Hat.

The irony? A president who so often diminishes women seems perfectly willing to use them as political shields when it benefits him.

Women aren’t your human shields. They're not your distraction. They sure as hell aren’t here to take the heat for the F-ups men create.

Ashley Hinson is bringing her “Fighting for Iowa” tour to Mason City tomorrow, October 14.

What she conveniently leaves out?..It’s being held at the GOP headquarters.. In the old Express Employment office, of all places.. Insert joke here 😅

A small office that will likely fill up with her own supporters, with no announced opportunity for the public to ask questions.

She calls this a bipartisan tour, but bipartisan for WHO?.. Because a room full of your own supporters listening to you talk isn’t a conversation with Iowans.. It’s a campaign stop.

If Ashley wants to talk about fighting for Iowa, maybe she should start by making room for Iowans who have questions she might not like answering.

Congresswoman Ashley Hinson You say you’re a bipartisan fighter who will work with anyone.. We think that’s something worth taking seriously.

Bipartisanship means more than working across party lines when it’s convenient.. It also means being willing to hear from people who disagree with you.

After hearing about people being physically escorted out of your event in Des Moines, I think it’s fair to ask whether Iowans with different perspectives will be welcomed at your Mason City event, even if they don’t share your politics.

I’m excited to hit the road on our “Fighting for Iowa” bus tour to share our message of lowering costs and bringing a much-needed dose of Iowa common sense to D.C.

From now until Election Day, we will be all over the state earning every vote and warning Iowans that Josh Turek is just too liberal to represent Iowa in the U.S. Senate.

A liberal like Turek – who voted to give taxpayer-funded benefits to illegal immigrants and to let kids secretly change their gender at school – doesn’t share our Iowa values and should not be serving our state in the Senate.

I’ll be a bipartisan fighter for Iowa, and I’ll work with anyone to make life more affordable, take on big pharma and big health insurance, and deliver results for our families, farmers, and small businesses.

We recognize the people, cultures, and history that existed long before this country ever did.. We also recognize the injustices Indigenous communities continue to face.

Respect means listening, learning, and making sure Indigenous voices aren't ignored.

Today and every day, we stand with Indigenous communities.

A quick update from NIFB!

We will NOT be hosting a No Kings rally on October 17th.

Right now, we're putting all of our energy into Get Out the Vote efforts, and we'll be out of town door knocking for a local candidate that day.

That doesn't mean there shouldn't be a No Kings rally here locally!! We want to encourage anyone interested in organizing one to take the lead and make it their own.. You don't need an organization behind you to bring people together and make your voice heard.

If you've been thinking about organizing something, this is your sign to go for it!

We'll be cheering you on from the campaign trail.
