It's been a crazy week.

Multiple members of our admin team have scheduled vacations this week, so don't fret if the page goes quiet for a few days.

Someone sent $25 before we got to the school this morning, so our total donated was $2,700!

Fighters like YOU helped families you've never even met before.. And that's pretty cool.

If you're a Hampton-Dumont family, we highly encourage you to fill out paperwork for free and reduced lunches - even if you don't think you would qualify, every household is different and the threshold for income changes based off those things.

We are all better together.

The power of people.

Our mutual aid efforts raised $2,700. That money is going to Hampton-Dumont tomorrow for lunch accounts.

That's 27 families who won't have to worry about going to collections.

Since this started, Patrick Palmer has been leading the local efforts on fundraising and has taken over $15k in donations. Because of community, families can breathe a sigh of relief.

We have been in contact with Pat and have made arrangements with him to deliver any further donations we receive after tomorrow.

Thank you to everyone who donated.

Community is everything.

Imagine being an immigrant who just voted for Turek and reading that.

Imagine being a trans girl who just voted for Turek and reading that.

Imagine hearing a candidate decide that the best way to win moderate votes is to publicly distance himself from people like you.

Iowans are worried about healthcare, housing, wages, grocery bills, and public schools. Those are the kitchen table issues that impact all of us.

Instead of focusing on those issues, some Democrats seem determined to prove they're willing to throw vulnerable communities under the bus.

That's not leadership and and it's not a winning strategy.

You don't build a coalition by telling some people they're acceptable collateral damage. You build it by standing up for everyone.

Do better by November.

If your school-aged children weren’t automatically enrolled, they may still be eligible to receive $120 in nutrition benefits this summer. As we kick off June, we want our LGBTQIA+ friends and neighbors to know that you are seen, valued, loved, and always welcome here.

Pride is a celebration, but it's also a reminder that the fight for equality, dignity, and human rights continues. At North Iowa Fights Back, we'll continue showing up, speaking out, and standing alongside our LGBTQIA+ community.

We're also looking forward to celebrating together at Mason City Pride on Saturday, July 18, and we hope to see you there.
