🌾 Parent Life Fun on the Farm 🌾

Join us Monday, June 22
5:45–7:45 PM in Swaledale
It will be an evening of fun, animals, food, games and fellowship!

Any expectant or parenting teen is welcome to attend. Current Parent Life families are always welcome, and we welcome new expectant and parenting families up to age 20 as well!

Little ones will have the opportunity to see and feed (if want) chickens and pigs. There are also cats and kittens! We'll have games, bubbles and other activities!

We'll be grilling burgers, hot dogs, and brats, along with sides and treats. Plus, everyone who attends will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win a prize!

We can't wait to spend a fun evening on the farm with you and your family!

We wrapped up our cooking classes!

Each parent who completed the required classes graduated with a certificate and received a free electric skillet to take home!

We are so proud of all the parents for showing up, learning new skills, and investing in their families. ❤️

A huge thank you to Kizzy with Iowa State University Extension and Outreach for being such a wonderful teacher. She worked patiently with the families and made the classes fun and welcoming.

Through these cooking classes, parents learned family-friendly recipes, kitchen safety, budgeting tips, and basic cooking skills like properly cutting fruits and vegetables.

The families are excited to continue trying new recipes at home with their skillets!

We spend a lifetime trying to give our children everything: the right schools, the right opportunities, the right memories. But the most significant thing they will ever inherit from us isn’t an external advantage; it is the state of our own nervous system.

If we don’t do the work to heal our own triggers, we will inevitably project them onto the people we love most. Our unhealed wounds become the "default settings" of our home. They show up in our big reactions, our need for control, and the walls we build when things get difficult.

Working on yourself isn't a selfish act. It is the ultimate act of protection.

When you choose to untangle your own past, you are ensuring that your children don’t have to spend their adulthood recovering from their childhood. You are giving them a parent who is a safe landing, not a minefield. You are showing them what it looks like to take responsibility for your own peace.

They don't need a parent who is perfect. They need a parent who is whole.

The greatest legacy you can leave is a cycle that finally stops with you. ❤️
