🎉 Today is National Manufacturing Day, and we're kicking off a month-long celebration.
This year, we're not only paying homage the exceptional products made in Blount County. We're recognizing the IMPACT our manufacturers make on our economy, our workforce and our community. And we’re sharing our pride in what’s Made Here.
Throughout October, we’re spotlighting a selection of innovative companies and people that make Blount County an ideal place to live, work and do business.
🚤 We begin with Skiers Choice.
Headquartered in Maryville, Skier's Choice manufactures Supra and Moomba performance inboard wakeboard and waterski towboats. The company pairs innovation and craftsmanship with a commitment to a premium customer experience, supported by a lean manufacturing operation focused on maximizing its positive impact on the community while minimizing its impact on the environment.
Skier's Choice reflects what Manufacturing Month is about. Behind every product is a skilled team solving problems, improving systems and keeping industries moving. Their work creates jobs, strengthens the regional economy and supports the local businesses that depend on a thriving industrial base. At Skier’s Choice, The biggest splashes are Made Here.
Nationally, manufacturing contributes $2.9 trillion to the U.S. economy, employs nearly 12.9 million Americans and accounts for 11% of GDP. Here at home, that impact is measured in careers, investment and opportunity for Blount County families.
We're proud to recognize manufacturers making a difference in our community. Follow along this month as we share their stories.
