Why Does the Work of the Industrial Development Board (IDB) matter for Blount County residents?

Let's get personal for a second.

When good businesses come to Blount County, competition for workers goes up, and that means your paycheck goes up too. Employers have to offer better wages and benefits to attract good people when there are more options around.

More businesses also mean a broader tax base that grows revenue without raising taxes. That money, provided by businesses of all sizes, means more dollars for public services, schools, infrastructure, and social programs like creative arts, all without raising your property taxes to get there.

And here's one you might not have thought about: when your adult children have good job options right here, they don't have to leave. Grandkids stay close. Families stay together. That's not just economics, that's quality of life.

We're not here to change Blount County. We're preserving it, and ensuring it's still standing strong 30 years from now.

Same mountains.
Same people.
Better opportunities.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for the VIP (Volunteers in Progress) President's Breakfast this week,

Blount Partnership President & CEO Bryan Daniels shared some of the many current Blount Partnership supported projects benefitting our community, including the Levitt AMP Maryville Music Festival which offers free entertainment in the Greenbelt Amphitheater beginning tomorrow night, the new Aviation Academy at Pellissippi State, Hops in the Hills Craft Beer Festival on June 13th and the addition of Siemens and Ramston Capital to Pellissippi Place.

Today's conversation is about answering some of the questions we've been hearing from the community.

Here are the intergovernmental agreements in their entirety for Pellissippi Place and Partnership Park North and South which states that they are operated by a Joint Operating Committee comprised of the city and county mayors or their designees. This group has control over the parks which includes sales, operating budgets, capital improvements, and management polices. 👇
