Thank you to Bailey Harms, owner of the Plot Twist Café, for joining us at Rotary today!

Bailey shared the inspiring story of how she first arrived at Northwest as an undergrad then later returned to our community as a graduate student and recognized the need for a local bookstore.

Through careful planning, hard work and a successful Kickstarter campaign that raised $15,000 in seed funding, she opened a bookstore in December that has already become a thriving community destination.

The Plot Twist Café serves as much more than a retail space, offering a café with book-inspired drinks, showcasing local artists, hosting book clubs, supporting university club fundraisers and creating meaningful opportunities for community engagement and connection.

Congrats to Bailey and to all entrepreneurs who work hard to create meaningful places and spaces in our community. 💙

Donald Hollingsworth, 98, of Maryville, Missouri passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026 at St. Luke’s North Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Celebration of Don’s Life will be held on Tuesday, June 9th at 11am at Rose Hill Acres, 104 South Main Street, Maryville, Missouri.

Many thanks to Rotarian Megan Jennings of the St. Francis Foundation (second from right in photo) for sharing important information at our weekly meeting about maternal health care in our region.

With a shortage of women’s health and OB/GYN services across northern Missouri, access to quality care for expectant and new mothers has become increasingly critical. Megan highlighted the new Women’s Health Clinic at Mosaic Medical Center-Maryville and shared how expanded services are helping meet the growing needs of women and families in our communities.

Maryville is fortunate to have access to outstanding medical care, and we are grateful for the partnerships that help extend those services into surrounding rural areas where OB/GYN care and other services may not otherwise be available.
