We are incredibly grateful for United Way of Blount County and the community volunteers they engage to help our Leadership Blount classes learn about our most vulnerable community members. LB ‘27 was encouraged to ask themselves what they can do to strengthen Blount County to make it a healthy, self sufficient, educated and thriving place for all.

The class then separated for a bit to tour a nonprofit in the community before gathering again to share what they experienced.
Thank you to everyone that was involved in this impactful day!

THIS is what we love to see! Watching people show up for the current class will never get old. Whether it’s in person for the new class reception, via an alumni dues payment, or a hand written letter thanking them for taking the leap of service. It’s just so fun to witness.

for the support from our engaged, thoughtful alumni!

Rising Leaders Day 3! ✔️

With a skill topic of conflict management, it was possible these leaders were approaching this class day with caution. Thankfully, there are plenty of people in blount county that were willing to provide problem solving tools and tell stories about how they manage conflict every day. Pausing, hearing people out, and proceeding with clear communication and care is where the magic is.
Thank you to our speakers that took the time to talk about such an important topic!

And a special thank you to James D. Horn for sponsoring our lunch.

“Class of 27” has a nice ring to it 🔔

LB ‘27 brought quite the crowd on Thursday to the Capitol Theatre for their New Class Reception!
We can’t wait to see what they do over the next 10 months.
