Today’s Particpant Spotlight is Mike P!

Mike has attended the Gate for 2 years. He loves listening to music, shooting basketball, wheelchair racing at Special Olympics and Gate birthday parties. In the video, we asked what he loves about the Gate. He said “basketball.” He’s a quiet guy, but has an easy smile and enjoys being with friends. We are glad Mike is part of our program! 🎶🏀🎂🧑🏽‍🦽

Last Thursday, we concluded our 25-26 Program Year with our annual talent show. Participants chose their favorite songs to sing, danced, told jokes, performed slinky tricks, and played musical instruments for an encouraging crowd of friends and family! We had such a great year. We hope everyone has a relaxing summer and we will see you back on August 4th.

Enjoy the 2026 Gate Talent Show! 🎹🎤🎶🪩🤩

Happy Work-a-versary to our amazing Program Director, Allison Galyon! 🎉🩵

For the past three years, Allison has been the heart behind our monthly activities calendar and the steady hand that keeps each day at The Gate running smoothly. From her love of a good spreadsheet 📊 to her creativity, humor, and calm “go with the flow” attitude, Allison brings joy and organization to our team.

No matter what hiccups come our way, she handles everything with grace and never misses a beat. We are incredibly grateful for all she does and to have her as part of The Gate family!

Help us celebrate Allison by showing her some love in the comments! ☺️👏

The red poppy is a nationally recognized symbol of sacrifice worn by Americans since World War I to honor those who served and died for our country in all wars. It reminds Americans of the sacrifices made by our veterans while protecting our freedoms.

For this month’s Aktion Club project, participants made Poppies to honor Veterans, current Military Service Men & Women and Military Families. They were given out yesterday at Madison Avenue’s Sunday Service.

On this Memorial Day, we want to say THANK YOU to all of those who have sacrificed their lives for our freedom! 🇺🇸🎖️♥️🤍💙
