The Morning Cup Toastmasters Join us weekly on Wednesdays at 7:30 AM in person at Vienna Coffee House in Maryville, TN, or via Zoom.

We provide a welcoming environment that aims to help members strengthen their public speaking and leadership skills while growing their confidence.

We’re excited to announce that two members of The Morning Cup Toastmasters took the top spots in the most recent Area Speech Contest!
🏆 Meg Plieseis earned 1st Place in the Area 21 Table Topics Contest — way to go, Meg!
🏆 Chris Burton took 1st Place in the Area 21 International Speech Contest — congratulations, Chris!
Both will be advancing to compete in the Division B Contest on March 28th. We’re incredibly proud of you both and cheering you on all the way!

What an inspiring evening at the Morning Cup Toastmasters club-level International Speech and Table Topics contests! The courage it takes to step up, speak, and grow is something worth celebrating in every single participant.

Our Morning Cup Toastmasters family is thrilled to introduce one of our newest members, Addie, whose energy, courage, and willingness to dive right in has already made her a shining light in our club.
✨ Why Toastmasters?
Addie joined Toastmasters to be part of a community that encourages, inspires, and motivates personal growth—all while building meaningful relationships.
✨ Why take on so many roles so soon?
“I want to get comfortable speaking in front of people. Before I give my first speech, I know I need to build some confidence.”
✨ Fun Facts About Addie:
💍 Happily married for 22 years to her husband, Josh
👦 Proud mom to two incredible sons—Gavin (19) and Jaxon (17)
📖 Loves studying the Bible, sharing her home, traveling, and spending time outdoors—whether it’s on the water in summer or skiing in winter!
✨ Her biggest fear about Toastmasters?
Not having enough time to accomplish all the expectations of the club. (We think she’s doing an amazing job already!)
✨ Life Mantra:
“If you are not growing, you are dying.” — Toastmasters is one way Addie continues to grow!

🌟 Member Spotlight: Celebrating Lindsey’s Achievement! 🌟
We are so proud to celebrate Lindsey Reneau, who has just completed her second Toastmasters Pathway – Presentation Mastery! 🎉
For Lindsey, this accomplishment is about much more than checking a box. It’s about seizing more communication opportunities than ever before, both inside and outside the club, and taking one more step toward the prestigious Distinguished Toastmaster (DTM) recognition.
💬 “For most of my life, I was labeled as socially backward,” Lindsey shared, “but now, I’m in a public communication club where I genuinely enjoy communicating with my fellow members.”
Her journey has already opened doors:
✨ Professionally – she co-facilitates volunteer trainings and even led a volunteer recruitment event.
✨ Personally – she leads Bible teachings in assisted living communities and brings humor and light into heavy spaces such as hospice and skilled nursing.
What’s next for Lindsey? She’s diving into her third pathway, serving as Area 21 Director, and even exploring the possibility of a Speechcraft program at her workplace.
The growth Lindsey has seen is inspiring: improved eye contact, fewer filler words, and the confidence that comes from calmness and clarity in communication.
