sanctuary heartbreaks.
I know I signed up for this......but the issue with taking in elderly ferrets is dealing with death. I just found my 9 year old Spice has passed over the bridge. I was doing my evening medicine rounds and found her in her favorite place. She was cold. She must have taken her morning medicine, curled up and went to sleep, never to wake again in this world. It is hitting me especially hard since it has only been a month and a half since I lost my wonderful wife Susie.
Spice was a wonderful tough little girl, dealing with both adrenal disease and insulinoma. Implants didn't do anything for her hair loss, but you would have never known anything was wrong with her if it wasn't for that. She played and dooked every day. She would climb up in the bed with me and sleep often times. She would hold her own against younger bigger ferrets, and usually we would find her laying amongst them, having made friends with them. Fly high little one. I'll be along soon enough.

reminder to everyone who won the smoky mountain scenic flight.....it's still on. The weather has been a bit unpredictable this spring. Hopefully June will treat us better. I would like to get the flights in by mid June to prevent uncomfortable heat and turbulence. Will be on Wednesday, Thursday, or Fridays in June. Please get in touch with me to let me know what days/times work best for you. We will coordinate the flights. Please also be aware that road construction on hwy 129 has made it difficult and confusing to get into skyranch. I may have to reschedule the flights into and out of McGee Tyson airport for your convenience.
