The Rotary Flag of Union County was designed by the club to represent the community it serves. The different colors of threads and the design have a specific meaning to our county. Our county is based on communities, schools and businesses. The heart of our county is the red center
of our flag and our Rotary Club meets weekly in the City of Marysville. Marysville Exempted Village School’s colors are red and blue. To the north of Marysville located in northern Union county, are North Union Local Schools whose colors are orange, black, and white. In the southern part of Union county, Fairbanks school colors are black and red. Our county school systems represent their communities and are the hub for not only academic, but the socialization around the arts, athletics and community services. The green rows along the side are the strong thread of agriculture which is not only the foundation of our county, but remain a cornerstone of all our communities. The blue and white threads that make up the words on the flag stand for the great white and blue collar workforce. We have developed into one of the best counties in Ohio holding world business leaders such as Honda, The Scotts Co, and Nestles. They are surrounded by a great small business culture of friendly hometown service. These are the colors and people who make up the Rotary Club of Union County. The Rotary Club’s hope is for this flag to lead you to visit and maybe even settle down in the county “Where Pride Resides”.
