From Waterville

- construction has started on the Opera House, and as you can imagine, we are very excited to see this dream come together!!! We have been told they are allowing 180 days to complete the work, which will be December. At this time, we are planning a grand opening April 27th and 28th, when winter weather is hopefully past. More info later. We will have a performance and pre-show event with the Weaver on the 27th, and a reception after the show on the 28th. Please share this with everyone!!!! Thanks for your help.
Will keep you updated, and hope you will join us for this celebration!!! Pam

Marty the Arty Squirrel....have you seen him? He now sits in front of the Lee Dam Center for Fine Arts. Sponsored by Landmark, County Arts Cooperative and Marysville Area Community Theatre. Way back in October we sponsored a float; Vic and Kathy Blecharczyk honored us by riding. We handed out sidewalk chalk and drama face masks; as it was the artsy thing to do.
Share your photos of the parade or of Marty. Looking for a good shot of him in his new spot!

Parade of the Black Squirrels::: Oct. 28, Friday evening. helpers needed. MACT, Marshall County Arts Cooperative, and Landmark Enterprises have shared funds to buy one of the Black Squirrel Sculptures to soon be displayed throughout Marysville. Our Marty the Arty Squirrel will ride on a trailer (float) in the Black Squirrel Parade. He/She will eventually be erected in front of the Arts Center…. there will be A parade on Black Squirrel Night , Oct. 28 at 6:00 pm down Broadway in Marysville. It’s a very busy time for all our volunteers but I would be so grateful for folks to help “populate” our float. It is to be from 10th and Broadway to about 6th street. Only 4 blocks!!!! We need at least six walkers and maybe a driver. Dress in costume for fun and hand out our special artsy gifts to parade viewers……sidewalk chalk and colorful eye masks. How fun is that?

If you have a vehicle that can tow the trailer and want to be the puller, that would be awesome, or we have at truck that can be borrowed. Sharon Ekiss for sure will be helping; come join her in some promoting the arts. I think our Artist will ride on the float with Marty… notify me here, call me at home 785 562 2067 or email [email protected].

Just saying, that we are NOT a farm implement company, or a real estate group. We are builders of community and the performing arts. Plus a good party as often as possible. Be kinda handy if we were a banking institution (might make funding easier) but we are a non-profit.
