The Union County Historical Society will host “Seldom Seen Items From Union County’s History”, a free event at 3 locations as part of the Ohio Open Doors Event on Sunday, September 20, from 1-4 pm. Hosted in cooperation with the Ohio History Connection, the museum at 246 W. 6th St, will have on display a recent acquisition, an Erb surrey manufactured in Milford Center by the L. F. Erb Carriage Repository. There will also be a display of guns made in Union County by John Lash, Israel Phipps, William Grauman, and F. L. Moffit.

The Union County Records Center and Archives at 128 S. Main St. will be open with the original plat of the town of Milford Center and other old county documents on display. The third site will be the newly installed log cabin at St. John’s Lutheran Church on OH-736, that they will be using as a teaching and learning center. Mark your calendars and we will have more information at a later date.

The Union County Museum is open today, July 11, from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm at 246 W 6th Street. Come see our beautiful building and collections and meet our WW2 re-enactors.

An important step in saving the Richwood Opera House and Town Hall happened last night at the village council meeting. Council voted 6-0 to repair the fallen roof truss, in order to proceed with its redevelopment. What would you like to see in this building which once was the social center of Richwood?
