The last of the first round of donated money has been spent, and the goods have been dropped off today! Thank you again to everyone who gave money or goods, so that we could give to the less fortunate in the community.
$113.60 was spent on this last batch of donations. We bought socks, soups, utensils, shampoo and conditioner, razors, aftershave/shaving gel, coffee cups, sugar, creamer. These items were bought at the request of an employee from the Life Building Center. We have donated to them a couple of times now. It only made sense to call and ask what they needed as they house people at the center.
Fact: the most asked-for item by homeless shelters is socks! 🧦
We will be coordinating an "open season" where we will be accepting donations, that way it is easier to manage (since this is run by full-time students and working adults), and we can shop and donate all within 2 weeks. More information on that coming soon.
