We want to share some exciting news—the St. Louis Blind Hockey Club kicked off our 2025-26 season this past Saturday! Our team is growing, and with more players joining, we’re in need of new uniforms and pennies to keep everyone outfitted.

As a local nonprofit, we depend on the support of people and businesses in our community to make hockey possible for blind and visually impaired athletes. Your sponsorship would go directly toward helping our players take the ice with pride this season.

I’ve attached our sponsorship flyer for you to look over—it highlights different ways you can get involved. Every bit of support makes a huge difference, and we’d love to have you be part of our team’s journey.

Thanks so much for considering, and we'd be happy to chat if you and your team would like to learn more or please come cheer on our players; please find our practice schedule on our website under "Calendar" in www.STLBBHC.com

St. Louis Blues Blind Hockey Club Seeking Senior-Level Volunteer Coaches

ST. LOUIS, MO – The St. Louis Blues Blind Hockey Club is currently seeking experienced, senior-level hockey coaches to volunteer with its growing program. The club is dedicated to offering individuals who are blind or visually impaired the opportunity to play ice hockey in a supportive, inclusive environment.

We are looking specifically for coaches with a strong understanding of team concepts, skill development, and small-area games; the same core elements used in traditional sighted hockey programs. While experience with the blind or visually impaired community is NOT required, a willingness to collaborate and creatively adapt drills and strategies is essential. Our leadership team will assist in guiding new coaches through this rewarding and unique coaching experience.

The commitment involves one-hour of ice time per week, currently held on Saturday mornings, with occasional off-ice planning and communication.

Coaches must meet all USA Hockey requirements, including:
• Background check
• SafeSport certification
• Age-specific coaching modules
• Current Coaching Education Program (CEP) certification
The ideal candidate will bring patience, enthusiasm, and innovative thinking to the rink; traits that allow drills and systems to be successfully tailored to athletes with limited or no vision.

“This is a powerful opportunity for coaches to make a lasting impact not just on player development, but on lives,” said President, Jeff Vann. “Our athletes are passionate, competitive, and hungry to learn. All they need is a coach willing to meet them where they are—and help them go further than they imagined.”

If you’re ready to grow the game and challenge yourself as a coach in new and meaningful ways, we’d love to hear from you.
