CCA Teammates,
Over the last couple of months, the Association’s Hall of Fame (HoF) program has been the focus of many discussions during board gatherings. We imagine it has generated quite a bit of conversation among many members of the Association as well.
Below is a list of actions the board has elected to take:
Immediate action:
Mike West has sent each current HoF recipient the narrative written about them, for their review
The goal is to ensure the narratives are accurate
Once the narratives are accurate, Mike will format them all the same way (currently they are not formatted the same)
Once formatting is complete, all hard copies and virtual representations will be updated so they are accurate and consistent, regardless where they are stored or viewed
Near term action:
Bruce Dixon will move the HoF board and documentation from CCT Heritage Museum at Combat Control School, to Hurlburt Field
We are still deciding on the best location, but think it might be the Special Tactics Training Squadron (more to follow)
Long term action:
The board will review the entire HoF program to include purpose, nomination procedures, make-up of the review panel, grading criteria, and selection. The board will then craft a recommended way forward to meet the intended purpose.
Additionally, I have asked the board to allow me to suspend all HoF nominations, voting, and selection until we can craft the way forward. They have agreed, so we will suspend HoF activities until we correct what we have, and create a clear path forward.
The board would like your inputs. We ask that all inputs be constructive and focus on what right should look like, rather than focus on past grievances. The board wants to address the issue in a healthy, and constructive way, so as to arrive at the best solution. If you have inputs and would like to provide your thoughts, please send them to [email protected]. All input will be reviewed, and all ideas will be considered.
Respectfully,
Mike Lamonica
CCA President
