Deegan's Drive for Donors

It is with much consideration and certainly heavy hearts that we have decided to take a year off of Deegan’s Drive for Donors. This has not been an easy decision but we feel year #5 was left on such a positive note that we want to sit back this year with hopes to come up with newer ideas, and a more simplified way of planning!

We cannot possibly thank everyone enough that has helped organize, volunteer, generously given donation items and participated each and every year!! Words will never come close to describe how thoughtful you all are to have helped us bring so much Organ Donation awareness to our community, helping so many families along their journey and most importantly allowing our family to keep our sweet Hero Deegan’s memory alive❤️

With your generosity, we have raised nearly $40,000 to help families overcome financial hardships!

Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have or ideas that might help in years to come!

TOMORROW'S AGENDA:

- Registration begins at 10:00 am tomorrow morning at the Pear Lake Lodge
- $20 per person for Food/ Ride
- $10 for only the ride or only food
- T-Shirts, Bandanas and Raffle tickets will be sold starting at 10am
- There will be a 24 passenger BUS! First come first serve, $20 per person for bus/ food
- The run will leave promptly at 12:00, we will arrive to our first stop at the Hitching Post between 12:45- 1:00. A 50/50 Raffle along with door prizes will be happening through out our time there! The Club Almar will be our second stop and arrival back to the the Pearl Lake Lodge will be between 3-3:30 to break in the new patio and stage with BLT. Come on out for a wonderful cause for Hope For Henry Charles, good food, raffles and great company!!

- For those who can't make it to the Pearl Lake Lodge please come visit us on our route at either the Hitching Post or Club Almar!

We can't wait for the 5th Annual Deegan's Drive for Donors, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everyone's help and participation to help make each and every year a great success!!

**TOMORROW IS THE LAST MEAT RAFFLE**

Join us tomorrow night at 7:00 at the Club Almar for our very last meat Raffle with proceeds going to Hope for Henry!

T-Shirts will be sold also, come get yours before the run Sunday and before they are gone!! ( Youth Sizes available this year!! )

I am so humbled by this, reading through the comments gave me so many tears- tears of joy and tears of sadness. This, right here, is the reason we do Deegans Drive for Donor's. It is truly that one thing that keeps me going day in and day out. I had followed Henry's story for so long, reading every update on him with big elephant tears in my eyes, every. Single. Post. Wondering what Deegan's recipients lives were like before his gift of life. Wondering how much those children's lives had changed and imagining the joy on their parents face. I miss my little Deegan so so very much and would do absolutely anything to have him here, but I know God had other plans and a purpose for everything. I want to thank everyone for their outpouring love that our family is given in support of Deegans Drive for Donors for the last 4 years and I'm so excited for year number 5! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

I figured Facebook may be the easiest way to connect with you! I have followed sweet Henry's story for quite sometime and he has completely stolen my heart! My son Deegan passed away in October of 2012 at just 22 months old after complications removing a mass on his brain, Organ Donation was soon brought to our attention and so began his legacy as his heart, liver and small intestine were donated to three very special children needing his life saving gifts.
Which leads me to the reason I am reaching out to you 😊We put on an annual motorcycle run, Deegan's Drive for Donors, we ride in his memory all while raising awareness of organ donation, but the most special part to me is raising proceeds for a family on the recipient side. Your little Henry has helped give me a sense of comfort knowing my son was able to save a little boy much like yours! We would love for your family to be the family we choose this year in Deegan's Memory!

Please join us this year for our 5th Annual Deegan's Drive for Donors on Sunday, August 20th! This year we feel so honored to have proceeds raised for Henry Charles Dolan- Hope For Henry!!

Henry Charles Dolan graced the world with his unexpected presence May 2, 2016. He came 12 weeks early weighing just 2 pounds, 11 ounces. Along with his prematurity, Henry also had two very serious heart defects; Truncus arteriosus and Hypoplastic left heart. These two heart defects left Henry with only half a heart, as well as only one major artery coming out of the heart instead of two.

Henry's first three months of life were spent growing in the NICU. As soon as Henry was big enough for surgery, we flew out of state for his first open heart surgery. Unfortunately Henry came out of his 12 hour open heart surgery on life support, and we soon realized a new heart was going to be his last chance for survival.

When Henry was just 5 months old he underwent a lifesaving heart transplant. Following his heart transplant, he spent another 5 months in recovery. At 10 months old Henry came home for the very first time.

Proceeds this year will be going to a very special little boy and his family, Henry Charles Dolan- Hope For Henry Charles (more information to come.)
