Hello Friends and Family,
Today I want to share with you something that's been laying on my heart, something that I feel God has called me to participate in. You see, I believe that in every Ministry, in order for it to succeed, it must also help other Ministry(s) to succeed. Now, everyone has a certain place in their hearts for certain Ministries. Some may even be a Ministry that God has created through you for some reason or another.
Before I share what God laid on my heart, I feel led to share with you a little about my childhood. You see, I wasn't always the guy you see today. Use to be I was very quick temper. It was almost like I was waiting for someone to do something that I didn't like or got offended by. The reason I was like that is because I've gotten made fun of alot and well, it harden my heart. You see, those who don't know me, I'm cleft lip and cleft pallette, for those who are not familiar with the defect, it's a birth defect.
Now, with that been said, I have to share with you that I'm not supposed to be alive. In fact, I wasn't supposed to have made it 6 months after I was born. But by the Grace of God, I'm here, even after 61 years.
I have a daughter who was also cleft lip. Now, to show how far modern day medical has come. Throughout my whole childhood life I've had surgeries trying to correct the defects. Unfortunately the doctors then wasn't successful. It wasn't until my eldest daughter was born that I found out just how far modern day science have came. I've found out when she was born, that they could correct cleft lip in 2 surgeries. Now, over 30 years later, they can correct the defects with just one surgery. Now to me, I find that completely amazing.
What I just shared with you was to show that cleft pallette and cleft lip can be life threatening to a newborn. There are babies borned with the defects never made it after birth, I don't know if this could be one of the reasons why but some was probably still born.
I've shared that with you to show the severely of the defects but that's just part of what I want to share. I know from experience that kids can be mean as well as some adults and well, some are. If these kids (like me) somehow do survive withoutgettingthe surgery needed to correct it, then they're face with people downgrading and making fun of them. I knew this because I've experienced it first hand. No child should have to go through that. Even today, at 61 years of age, I still get made fun of. The difference today is from then, I know what the Word says, it said that I'm made in the image of God, I'm fearfully and wonderfully made. That means that I'm made to perfection, because God made me. But back in my Childhood days, I thought as a child. Therefore when someone made fun of me, I would get into fights at school or on the school bus or even when I was out playing. I use to go around with this chip on my shoulders asking God "why, why did you do this to me?" When I got saved and learned that I could go to God and ask for whatever I wanted, He would give it to me, I would asked Him to heal me. Unfortunately that didn't happen. So, I thought that God was like everybody else, He was against me. That was probably one of the reason why I was in and out of Church throughout my young adult life. Why would a God who created me, allow me to go through this. Well, it wasn't until I got into Church Faithfully and started getting into the Word when I've found out the answer. It wasn't that God made a mistake when He created me, He created me like this for a very special reason but I still didn't know what it was, that is until I found Facebook. It was here where I learned about Operation Smile. It was through Facebook where I found out about Smile Train and God's reasoning behind creating me the way He did and not answering my Prayers the way I wanted Him. His plans was bigger than mine, I was being greedy and when you're trying to be greedy, God's not going to answer your prayers. He's not going to be your sugar daddy.
You see, God has His reason behind why He created you like He did. He didn't make a mistake when He created you, there is a reason why He created you the way He did. If you be still and wait on the Lord, He will reveal His reasons in time. His reasoning for me is quiet obvious. There's are children not only in other parts of the world, but here in our country as well that are born with this defect(s). This is the area that I'm asking for your help. Wether it be directly to Operation Smile, Smile Train or through Prayermail World Ministry, I'm asking for donations for these 2 Ministries. If you want to go through Prayermail World Ministry, let me know and I'll be sure your donations go towards the Ministry of your choice. I will be starting ago fund me on Facebook once I'm back in the States. Then you will be able to donate to the Ministry through there.
But before you do anything, please pray about it and let God lead you in the way He wants you to go. Let His Will be done in this, not ours. I want this to be all God's doing and not man. I love it when God shows up because you know when He shows up, He can't help but show out. It what He does and I love it when it happens. So please pray and let the Lord have His Way.
