Clark County Ag in the Classroom Coordinator
Part-Time Position
The Clark County Farm Bureau is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and agriculture-minded individual to serve as our Ag in the Classroom Coordinator and lead our Ag in the Classroom Program.
This is a flexible part-time position that works with schools throughout Clark County to provide engaging, hands-on agricultural education opportunities for elementary students.
Key Responsibilities
• Plan and teach interactive, hands-on agriculture lessons to elementary students throughout Clark County.
• Coordinate with local schools and teachers to schedule classroom visits and educational programs that help students understand the importance of agriculture.
• Apply for and manage annual grants.
• Track and submit hours worked, mileage, and program-related expenses.
• Assist with other Clark County Farm Bureau programs, events, and activities as needed.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
• Have a passion for agriculture and agricultural education.
• Be comfortable speaking and presenting in a classroom setting.
• Be dependable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Be able to accurately maintain records, submit reports, and manage program-related documentation.
Agricultural experience or knowledge is preferred, but enthusiasm, dependability, and a willingness to connect students with agriculture are essential.

It's time to start thinking about restocking your ponds this fall. Here is the order form that can be filled out and mailed in with a check or stop in and drop it off at the office. The deadline to order all fish is September 10. Pickup will be 8 a.m. on October 1 at the office.

We had a great day for our Cover Crop Bus Tour yesterday with Cumberland County Farm Bureau, Jasper County Farm Bureau, and Richland County Farm Bureau. Thank you to all who joined us and hosted us!
At SIUC we heard from:
Chris Vick: From cover crop to cash crop, growing canola in Illinois for profit
Dr. Karla Gage: Novel Cover Crop and Herbicide Management for Controlling Waterhemp in No-Till and Strip-Till Soybean Fields
Amir Sadeghpour: An update on the Next Generation of Cover Cropping and Sustainable Intensification of Corn and Soybean Rotation
SIUC will be holding a field day on July 17th in Belleville. They would like to invite everyone to attend and enjoy a bbq chicken dinner.

After SIUC, Southern FS showed us a drone that they use for imagery in fields.

Then we headed to the Ewing Demonstration Center where we learned about the history of the site and got to see fields that have been no-tilled for over 50 years. They are doing a lot of research on run-off from their fields and w**d control using cover crops. They will be having their field day on July 23rd, 9-noon. All are invited to register and attend.

Supper was at the Ringside Buffet in Mt. Vernon. We felt like we found a hidden gem. The food was good and we got to meet the owner and learn about the restaurants history, their community involvement, and wrestling impact.

A huge thank you also to Illinois Farm Bureau, Kate Baker and Jacob Gard from Precision Crop Management, Luke Zwilling with Extension watershed outreach, Luke Bergschneider the On-farm research and outreach specialist at University of Illinois, and Bales buses.
