Stability First Our Mission: Changing lives through stability, hope, and Christ. We work alongside our neighbors to identify resources and find solutions together.

Our Vision: By focusing on development over betterment, we sow the seeds for healthy and thriving lives. Stability First is a faith‐based initiative born out of the Morgan County Bridges Out of Poverty. Our programs include transitional housing as well as a circle of services geared toward assisting low income families in increasing financial stability and self-sufficiency. Below are the primary ministries of Stability First:

1. The Magdalene House is a facility for women without dependents. It provides housing and supportive services for up to 16 women. Our goal is to walk alongside women as they gain the stability need to live on their own. The program is faith-based and focused on an individualized, goal oriented process.
2. Foundations is a non-residential program providing spiritual mentoring, goal setting and accountability tools, as well as life coaching for men. Stability First envisions a residential program reinforcing these goals in the near future, as God provides.
3. The LYNAY Center is a multipurpose facility housing additional services to address poverty issues in Morgan County. Programming includes men’s outreach coaching sessions, recovery group meetings and educational, job and career exploration opportunities.
4. Maggie Bags is an entrepreneurial support ministry. The efforts of Magdalene House residents are combined with volunteers seamstresses to create beautiful women’s cross-body shoulder bags. Shelter residents learn sewing skills along with valuable job skills. Bags can be purchased at the Maggie Bag Boutique or online at www.maggie-bags.com

💙 HONORING A LEGACY. CONTINUING HOPE.

Two weekends ago, Stability First was honored to join the John D. Randall Memorial Foundation for its 4th Annual Golf Outing at Foxcliff Golf Club.

This event holds a special place in our hearts. Healing Harbor – The John D. Randall Recovery Engagement Center carries John’s name and serves as a place where individuals and families impacted by substance use can find connection, resources, support, and hope.

Our team was proud to be part of the day, sharing Healing Harbor resources with attendees and representing Stability First on the golf course. It was a meaningful opportunity to connect with John’s family and a community united in honoring his life and legacy.

Out of tremendous loss, the Randall family has created a lasting legacy that continues to bring hope, connection, and healing to others. We are thankful for their continued commitment to this mission and the opportunity to be part of a community carrying that hope forward.

💜 Names Not Numbers, Rise and Recover

On September 12, our community came together for Names Not Numbers, Rise and Recover to honor lives lost, celebrate recovery, and share a message of hope.

As Leslie Gaw, Healing Harbor Community Resource Director, shared:
“There was something really special about seeing people from all different parts of our community standing together, people in recovery, families, providers, and supporters. We were able to honor the people we’ve lost, but the night was also about celebrating recovery and the people living it every single day.”

Robin Wonnell, Stability First Executive Director, reflected:

“Names Not Numbers, Rise and Recover was deeply moving—a time to remember, to honor, and to celebrate hope. Hearing the names of those we have lost to addiction reminded us that each name represents a life loved and deeply missed. Celebrating those living in recovery reminded us that healing is possible. Our community coming together to share both the grief and the joy was powerful. It reminded us that no one should have to walk this journey alone.”

Thank you to everyone who joined us in remembering, celebrating, and standing together. Recovery is real, healing is possible, and hope grows when we come together. 💜

Yesterday at the Fall Foliage Parade, our float shared a powerful message: Everyone Has a Seat at Our Table.

Lasting recovery takes all of us—families, faith communities, professionals, local leaders, and neighbors working together to create pathways to hope, restoration, and second chances.

We’re grateful to celebrate this message alongside our community and honored to receive the 2026 Praiseworthy Award and Mayor’s Award! ❤️

Join us on November 5 for Stability First’s Rise & Soar Gala, an evening of inspiration, meaningful stories, and community.

From emcee Ryan Ahlwardt, Emmy Award-winning television host and singer-songwriter, to community leaders Judy Bucci, Justin Clements, and Dan Moore, along with Stability First Executive Director Robin Wonnell and Foundations House resident Sean Upshaw, this evening will highlight the people and stories that make our mission so meaningful.
