💦☀️ Water Safety PSA ☀️💦
Did you know swimsuit color can impact how visible a child is in the water? These images show how some colors are much easier to see in pools and lakes than others.
👀 Bright neon colors like orange, yellow, and lime green are often easier to spot underwater and from a distance, while colors like blue, gray, white, and dark shades can blend into the water.
With summer here, keep water safety in mind:
✅ Choose bright, high-visibility swimwear
✅ Always actively supervise children around water
✅ Use life jackets when appropriate
✅ Remember—drowning can happen quickly and quietly
A simple choice, like swimsuit color, can make a difference. Stay safe, Morgan County! 💙

☀️ Summer Water Safety Reminder 💦
As warmer weather approaches and families head to pools, lakes, and waterways, the Morgan County Health Department encourages everyone to make water safety a priority this summer
Did you know:
• Two-thirds of drowning deaths occur between May and August
• Boys account for 3 out of 4 child drowning deaths
• Many children who drown were missing for fewer than 5 minutes
👀 A few simple reminders can help keep everyone safe:
✅ Always supervise children around water
✅ Use life jackets when appropriate
✅ Secure pools with barriers and locked gates
✅ Never assume someone else is watching
Let’s work together to keep this summer safe for everyone. 💙

🚶‍♀️🚴‍♂️ What a successful workshop!

The Morgan County Health Department was proud to host the Active Living Workshop at the Martinsville library, with Health by Design, the Indiana Department of Health Division of Nutrition & Physical Activity, and Indiana Department of Transportation facilitating the event.

Participants completed a walk audit and explored ways to make Morgan County more walkable, bikeable, rollable, and accessible for all residents.
