The Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund was founded to honor the legacies of Robert F. Their shared vision continues to guide our mission: expanding access to higher education and investing in students who are ready to lead, serve, and make a difference.

We are proud to share the 2026 Kennedy-King Memorial College Scholarship Fund Sponsorship Levels and invite local businesses, community leaders, and philanthropic partners to join us in making a lasting impact.

Today we honor the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse L. Jackson Sr., a lifelong champion for civil rights, social justice, and the power of education.

A close ally of Martin Luther King Jr., Reverend Jackson carried forward the movement for equality and opportunity for all.

His words continue to inspire:

“If my mind can conceive it, and my heart can believe it, I know I can achieve it.”

We honor the life and legacy of Gwen Regalia, a devoted public servant, community leader, and cherished founding member of the Kennedy-King Memorial College Scholarship Fund.

In response to the assassinations of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Senator Robert Kennedy in 1968, Gwen, her husband Ed, and a small group of associates came together to create the Kennedy-King Memorial Scholarship Fund. With the continuing support and commitment of Gwen and her family over the years, Kennedy-King has evolved from a small core of individuals to a twenty one member board in 2026, nearly half of whom are themselves former Kennedy-King scholars. Over the years, Gwen worked to secure generous donations from individuals and local businesses, which has provided millions of dollars in scholarships for under-represented students in Contra Costa County.

Driven by a deep belief in education, equity, and opportunity, Gwen helped open doors for generations of students, empowering them to excel academically and pursue their professional aspirations. In 2022, Gwen was honored at the Kennedy-King Scholars Gala Dinner, where she spoke with pride of the scholars’ achievements, reminding them that they are the future of this country, and expressed her faith in their responsibility to uplift those who would follow in their footsteps.

The Kennedy-King organization and scholarship recipients owe Gwen Regalia a profound debt of gratitude for her lasting contributions. Her vision and compassion leave an enduring legacy that will continue to shape lives for years to come.

We extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and to the community as they remember and celebrate Gwen’s remarkable life.
