And if you didn't get enough apple sampling, our entire meal focused on apples. First we had apple c***r and apple cinnamon cookies, caramel apple cupcakes, and apple c***r donuts during social time. For lunch we had pork loin braised in apples and c***r, with a side of roasted fall vegetables and homemade applesause. For dessert you had 3 choices: baked apple crisp with vanilla ice cream, apple cheesecake, or both!

Our theme for the October Purple Angels Memory Cafe is the fall apple harvest. We sampled 6 different types of apples, grown at 3 different orchards. And there was plenty for everyone to take some home! We also had a variety of dips including caramel, peanut butter, and chocolate peanut butter.

Great crowd, good people! We had fun today, and nobody left hungry!

On October 1, 2015, the Purple Angels Memory Cafe was born! We hosted our first community event and over 70 people attended.

On October 1, 2026, we begin our 12th year providing a memory cafe in our community. Marshfield Area Purple Angels is proud to be supporting those living with Alzheimer's disease and other types of dementia, together with their caregivers, families and friends.

Making homemade applesause for the Purple Angels Memory Cafe. A mix of sweet and tart apples: Macintosh, Cortland, Honey Crisp, and Golden Delicious. Leaving the skins on makes the sauce a pretty pink color. Then it goes through grandma's colander to separate the skins and mush up to a nice smooth applesauce.
