Welcome to our community.

In 2019, Marshfield's beloved Ferry Hill property (formerly the Marshfield YWCA) was in jeopardy of being sold to developers. Facing the potential destruction of a place that has supported our community for decades and served as a home away from home for so many, a group of past camp employees, directors, caretakers and local residents banded together to raise the funds necessary to save this treasured property.

With the generous support of Eastern Bank and an anonymous (“Hail Mary”) donor, this determined group was able to raise the $850 thousand dollars in credit needed to buy the property within the very short window of opportunity. This miraculous (and last minute) victory left all teary-eyed and with the conviction that this property must be used as the foundation for a community that was inclusive and kind.

Thus the Ferry Hill Community Center & Day Camp was formed - with one fundamental mission: Everyone belongs and let us be kind to one another. We are community committed to kindness.

The longer term vision for our community center includes scheduled speakers and events based around social inclusion opportunities. We envision our space to offer classes on yoga; mindfulness and meditation, support groups; academic support, expressive art and enrichment workshops; as well as other trainings and offerings.
