Richfield Fire Department
In case any of you are wondering how the local fire departments are doing with the Corona epidemic issue. We can tell you “it’s business as usual” with a couple of exceptions. Several fire departments have had to postpone or cancel their fundraisers (but you can still make donations). We have modified who is in the building somewhat - so no outside of the agency meetings are being held here. We are however continuing with training and keeping our employees informed on the vital information that keeps us running. We monitor our members health and the same rules apply – if you’re not feeling good – STAY HOME. We need to keep healthy responders. There are many government agencies working on getting us additional PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) if we should need it. We have utilized Universal Precautions for years when it comes to patient care and protection of the responder – that hasn’t changed.
If you need more information – look at the CDC’s website https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html or utilize the hotlines set up by area hospitals, this is where the most up to date and accurate information can be found.
We would ask one more thing of you – PLEASE PROVIDE AS MUCH SUPPORT TO OUR LOCAL BUSINESS AND ORGANIZATIONS that you can. Keeping everyone healthy is an issue but also keeping our local economy healthy is just as important. Order out food from the local, bars, restaurants and cafes – it’s really good stuff! Utilize the local grocery, hardware, gas stations, and other stores that are open for business, they are doing the best they can. Provide the local support that is really needed right now. That’s what is important to us.
