Big news: Our leadership team is growing!

I’m thrilled to share that Lorrie Bauer has stepped up as our Operations Lead. Having her on board to help manage our internal systems and keep things moving smoothly is a huge win for the mission, and I’m so grateful to have her expertise in the mix.

While we’ve filled that key spot, we are still looking for two more thoughtful leaders to join us:

Programs / Community Lead – You’ll help shape our initiatives and stay connected with our community partners and the people we serve.

Communications & Storytelling Lead – You’ll help us find the right words and visuals to share our impact so people truly understand the "why" behind what we do.

The Details:
Commitment: Intentionally small—about 3–8 hours a month.

Authority: These are real leadership roles with decision-making power.

Pay: These are currently unpaid positions as we build our foundation.

Looking for 3- and 5-gallon pickle buckets, plastic buckets (like the kind pickles come in)

If you’ve got extras from a restaurant, deli, or kitchen and are willing to pass them along, I can pick up locally. These will be reused for community projects, so nothing goes to waste.

We want to sincerely apologize for the technical hurdles some of you encountered with our initial survey. We’ve heard your feedback and understand that the requirement to sign into a Google account was a significant barrier.

We want to reassure everyone that all submissions were and remain completely anonymous. The login requirement was a default setting we didn't intend to have active, and we understand why it caused concern regarding privacy.

At Honey Suckle Bush, we believe no one should ever be turned away without a next step. That’s why we’ve officially updated the Network of Wisconsin Impact (NOWi) page to be fully self-service!

We’ve reached a spot where this resource belongs to the community. Here is how you can use it today:

📍 For Individuals: Need a place to sleep, food assistance, or recovery support? Search our categories to find help near you, right now.

➕ For Organizations: Don’t see your group listed? You can now add yourself! Help us make sure your services are visible to those who need them most.

🤝 For Community Groups: Never say "we can't help" again. If a service is outside your wheelhouse, use NOWi to find a partner group that can take the lead. Let’s keep the help moving.

No red tape. No fees. Just visibility for the people doing the real work.

Homelessness doesn’t look the same for everyone—and in Marshfield and the surrounding areas, we need a clearer, community-driven definition.

Right now, we’re gathering real input to better understand what homelessness actually looks like across different situations. Whether it’s couch surfing, living in a vehicle, temporary housing, or something else—your perspective matters.

We’ve put together a short, anonymous survey (takes about 5 minutes) to collect this data and build a more accurate picture of what people are experiencing locally.

We haven’t yet had the opportunity to fully update everyone who joined us at Mini Rapids on April 3rd, but we want to recognize the impact that was made. Through the combined efforts of the Mini Rapids team and the strong community turnout, we raised $175—an encouraging step forward in supporting our mission.
