Can you afford to pay up to $1,000,000 to defend yourself in the event of a lawsuit by a disgruntled tenant who had bed bugs. Can you afford the steep penalties from the government if you do not have the proper lead based paper work on file? The local landlord association is staying on top of these problems on a daily basis. Dear landlords,
In our ever changing society, the laws that we as landlo
rds must abide by can be a challenge to keep up with. Are you aware of the laws that have changed in the past couple of years and of those laws that are presently being considered by our legislature? Do you have good information that will help you deal with a bed bug infestation that you could be faced with? In the past the Central Iowa Property Association has been involved in striving to keep our members abreast of the changing laws so that we can stay in compliance. We have worked and been successful in keeping down the rates that you are charged by the city to be able to operate your investment property. We have also had a hand in working to keep some of the oppressive laws out of congress that will rob you of your ever shrinking profits. Your rental property association is also on the cutting edge of the new Crime Free Housing program that will boost the profits and value of your properties and make them a safer place for your tenants to live. This year alone we were working to get three new laws through congress to help maximize your profits. With you on the same team we will be even better than before. In the future the Central Iowa Property Association must be even better and we need you to make it better. Our desire is to expand the organization in our neighboring towns to gain the strength in numbers that will make a difference. By doing this we will also be able to help even more landlords have an edge on protecting the profits of their business. For less than 14 cents a day you can have the advantage of a team on your side to help you make a profit in these difficult times and work to keep you on the cutting edge of valuable information that can save you tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars from law suits that stem from not being aware of current laws on the books. Remember that there is also strength in numbers. To sit by idly and do nothing while our profits are eroded away will certainly have a devastating effect to the investment that you have made in your rental property. You will also have a network of experienced landlords who will pull together with you to help make your business a success. Sincerely,
Fred Rhodes, President
