You are cordially invited to the 2026 Annual Members Meeting of the Friends of Marshall County Conservation.

The meeting will be June 17 at 6:00 p.m. at the Grimes Farm Conservation Center. The event will begin with a free meal with sides, desserts, and beverages. There will be a short presentation on current MCCB projects and the election of new board members and officers.

If you are a paying member, would like to become a member, or would like to serve on our board of directors, we would love for you to attend the meeting. We ask that you RSVP with your name and the number of people attending to [email protected] by June 15th, 2026. Due to the expected weather tomorrow, the concert with Standing Hampton will be pushed back to 6:30pm.

Sealed bids will be received on this beautiful quilt made and donated by Marvis Drew. Drew states "Inspiration for this quilt is of things found at Green Castle Recreation Center as well as other Marshall County Parks". Proceeds will be used towards the cost of the new bison at Green Castle Recreation Area and Campground. Bids may be submitted at any Live and Local Concert this summer at Grimes Farm, June 11, July 30, August 27 and anytime at Grimes Farm Nature Center through August 28. The quilt winner will be announced and go home with the quilt at the last Live and Local Concert September 11. All concerts are free to attend, 6 PM-8 PM. Bids may also be submitted at the Friends of Marshall County Conservation Annual Members meeting Wednesday, June 17th, 6PM at Grimes Farm. Join the Friends of Marshall County Conservation and attend! For Friends Members, a meal will be served followed by a presentation with Director Emily Herring. Anyone interested in serving on the board is encouraged to attend.

The students of Mr. Rolenc’s Digital Illustration class collaborated with the Friends of Marshall County Conservation to create graphic designs for a sticker pack featuring twelve Marshall county parks and trails. The vinyl sticker packs, great for water bottles and other outdoor gear, will sell for $6 and will be 6 x 8.5 inches. They will be available for purchase at all the Live and Local concerts held at Grimes Farm this summer. The first concert, Standing Hampton, will be on June 11th at 6:30 PM. All proceeds will go to local conservation efforts. The featured artwork was created by Ryder Ambrose, Jacob Bethel, Elise Brott, Maria Gonzalez, Viviana Gorgonio Macias, Serenity Holtsclaw, Zaid Ibarra Ruiz, Zane Safley, and Matilda Webb.
