Bev was a former executive director at Wings of Refuge. She was an integral part of the organization, and she will be deeply missed by many. Bev was a middle school teacher/counselor before the Lord led her to Wings where she served in her role for five years. Not only did she help in the acquiring and remodel of the TLC, but she also started the social enterprise, which we now know as the ONE MORE store. Bev led the organization through a lot of growth and major transitions. We are so grateful for the lasting impact she has made.

A survivor had these words to say about her time with Bev:

On the day of my graduation Bev gave me a list of things that she had learned from me. I feel it is fitting to share what I learned from Bev (both as a participant and as a staff member under her).

1. She taught me to find joy in the moment (her laugh is what I remember most about her)
2. She taught me so much about what it looks like to have faith, to trust the Lord with everything
3. She taught me that everyone walks through hard things and what it looks like to lean on others through the hard things
4. She taught me to believe in myself - that I have value and worth in the Lord

Bev saw the good in everyone. She truly believed that God could heal the brokenhearted and that everyone deserves a chance at a future. She touched so many lives during her time at Wings, and I am so thankful that she listened to the Lord and allowed Him to do such good through her. The world needs more Bev's in it. All that she did while she was executive director at Wings helped it become the program it is today and she will not be forgotten.

Smiles, laughter and tears are not uncommon during many of the celebrations that happen at Wings. We know that every survivor faces various challenges on her healing journey, and celebrations are an important part of the process! The women sharing their faith and speaking kind words to the heart of another has more impact than we might ever know. We are so grateful for every participant the Lord brings to Wings of Refuge, and for your support that creates opportunities for more of these sacred moments to unfold!
