πŸ½οΈπŸ’› Giving Back β€” The JCOSA Takes Over the Canteen

This week, something beautiful happened at JCC School. The JCOSA β€” Jonathan's Child Care Old Students Association β€” took over the school canteen, preparing and serving food for the students and teachers.

But this was about so much more than a meal.

JCC has always been more than just a school. For so many of its students β€” past and present β€” it has become family. And the JCOSA is living proof of that. These are young people who came through JCC, whose lives were shaped within its walls, and who now choose to come back β€” to serve, to encourage, and to invest in those coming up behind them.

In doing so, they are also growing themselves β€” building skills, confidence, and a spirit of generosity that will carry them forward in their own futures.

This is the JCC family in action. This is hope passed from one generation to the next. πŸ’™πŸ™

Thank you to every member of JCOSA for your faithful, joyful hearts.

πŸ‘Άβœ¨ A Story of Hope β€” From Fragile to Flourishing

When a little baby boy β€” we'll call him John β€” arrived at the Infant Care Centre in January, he was in a very fragile state. Weak and undernourished, his caregiver was doing their best but simply didn't have the knowledge or resources to give him what he needed. It was a desperately difficult situation for everyone involved.
The ICC team stepped in. With patient, consistent, loving care β€” formula feeds, careful monitoring, and daily support β€” John began to turn a corner.

Today, we are overjoyed to share that he is doing so much better. He is eating well, has begun eating pap and soft foods, and is growing and developing in ways that fill our hearts with gratitude. πŸ™

This is what the Infant Care Centre exists to do β€” to step in during the most vulnerable moments of a child's life and say: we've got you.

Thank you for making stories like John's possible. Your prayers and support sustain this work every single day. πŸ’™

The Jonathan's Child Care Church community came together to dedicate the babies of our Infant Care Centre β€” and it was a morning none of us will forget.
One by one, these precious little lives were brought forward, prayed over, and dedicated to God. For many of these babies, the road here has not been easy. But watching them held in love, surrounded by community, and covered in prayer is a beautiful reminder of why this work matters so much.

To our incredible ICC team, foster mothers, and all who walk alongside these children every single day β€” thank you. You are making an eternal difference in the lives of the most vulnerable. πŸ’›

We are so grateful for this community and for every person who supports the work of Jonathan's House International. These babies are thriving because of you.

βš½πŸ† Our Girls Are Going to the National Playoffs!

This past Saturday was a day we will not forget in a hurry. The JCC Girls Football Team took on the Sherbro Queens in the SLFA Regional Championships β€” and delivered a breathtaking 9-0 victory to claim the regional title! πŸŽ‰

They are now through to the National Playoffs, where they will compete for the chance to become a Premier League team. What an extraordinary achievement for these young women, their families, and this whole community.

We want to take a moment to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to our coaches β€” your dedication, patience, and belief in these girls has been unwavering. And to every supporter who has shown up, cheered from the sidelines, and prayed for this team β€” this victory belongs to you too. πŸ’™

God has blessed this team with talent, determination, and heart. We can't wait to see what comes next. πŸ™

Let's go, JCC! πŸ“£

πŸ“βœ¨ Three Years of Work. One Big Saturday.

This past Saturday, our Class Six students from JCC School in Bo, Sierra Leone, took one of the most important steps of their young lives β€” sitting their NPSE (National Primary School Examinations).

For these students, this moment is the culmination of three years of hard work, faithfulness, and growth. The NPSE is the gateway to secondary school, and every one of them showed up ready to give it their very best.

Watching these young people walk into that examination room was a reminder of why education matters so deeply β€” and why your support of JHI makes such a real, lasting difference in the lives of children in Sierra Leone.

We are so proud of every single student. Now we lift them up in prayer and trust God with the results. πŸ™πŸ’™

Thank you for being part of their story.

🌿 A Classroom in God's Creation β€” Easter at the Gola Rainforest

This Easter, the JSS 1 class from JCC School in Bo experienced something truly special β€” a visit to the Gola Rainforest, one of the last remaining areas of ancient Upper Guinean tropical forest in West Africa, and one of the most stunning examples of God's creation in all of Sierra Leone.

The trip was made possible through the generous support of Midvision, a UK-based company with a heart for investing in young people and the future of Sierra Leone.

The students explored the forest with local rangers, studied labelled native trees, discovered the remarkable birds that call the forest home β€” including a sighting of what looks like a White-crested Hornbill! β€” and had honest conversations about the dangers of deforestation and what it means to be faithful stewards of the world God has given us.

It was a day of wonder, curiosity, and learning that went far beyond the classroom walls. Watching these young people connect with God's creation β€” and begin to understand their responsibility to protect it β€” was a beautiful reminder of why education matters so deeply.

A heartfelt thank you to Midvision for their generosity in making this day possible. πŸ™πŸ’š

πŸ†βš½ Champions of the Bo First Division β€” and they didn't concede a single goal!

We are incredibly proud of the JCC Girls Football Team, who have stormed through the Bo First Division Football League without letting in one goal β€” and come out on top as champions! πŸŽ‰

But the journey doesn't stop here. They are heading into the regional playoffs, and their first match is this Friday. Let's cheer them on!

These young women are showing the world what determination, teamwork, and faith can do. We couldn't be more proud. πŸ’™

Come and support them this Friday β€” and let's make some noise for our champions! πŸ“£

What does $20 actually do?

At JCC in Sierra Leone, $20 covers an ICC aunty’s salary for a week.

We’re not asking for much. We’re asking for faithful. Monthly givers are the backbone of this ministry β€” they’re what lets Winston plan, staff, and serve without wondering if the lights will stay on.

If you’ve been thinking about giving, today’s a good day to start.

This is what your generosity looks like on a shelf in Sierra Leone. 🍼

Formula. Rows and rows of it. Sitting in the cupboards of the Infant Care Centre at JCC in Bo β€” because of you.

The ICC opened in December and is already changing lives. Right now the team is caring for 6 babies living on campus who have lost their mothers, 4 babies in the community they support from the centre, and 2 more currently being assessed as they work with local families.

These are not statistics. These are babies who needed someone to show up, and you did β€” from Iowa to Sierra Leone.

Whether you donated formula directly, dropped something off at Second Chance on Third, or gave financially to JHI: this is where it goes. This shelf. These babies.
The ICC team asked us to say thank you. So: thank you. From Bo, from the babies, from all of us.
