This week I had the opportunity to attend the Jasper County Cares Coalition meeting—standing alongside others who are committed to protecting children and strengthening families.

The pinwheel is a symbol of the safe, happy childhood every child deserves.

At Quakerdale Family Services, this work is at the heart of what we do every day—walking with families, building skills, and creating safe spaces for healing and growth.

Prevention starts with all of us.

We’re Hiring: Functional Family Therapist (FFT)
📍 North Central Iowa

Looking for flexible, meaningful work that fits your life?

At Quakerdale Family Services, we walk alongside families in some of their hardest seasons—and we’re growing our team.

👉 Perfect for clinicians who want flexible, part-time work or something that can fit alongside another role.

✨ We are hiring for TWO coverage areas:

🔹 Position 1:
Sac, Carroll, Greene, and Boone counties

🔹 Position 2:
Pocahontas, Humboldt, Calhoun, Webster, and Hamilton counties

✔ You are not expected to cover both areas
✔ We work with you to build a manageable, realistic caseload and travel area

✨ Why people love working with us:

✔ Training + ongoing consultation in FFT
✔ Clear, performance-based pay

💲 Earn $450–$500 per completed phase of therapy
(The more families you help move forward, the more you earn)

🧠 What you’ll do:

• Provide in-home family therapy (1 hour/week)
• Work with 5–10 families
• Use the FFT model to create real, lasting change
• Meet families where they are—literally and emotionally

💛 This might be a great fit if you:

🎓 Qualifications:

Preferred: MSW or MA/MS in a related field
Also considered: Bachelor’s + 2+ years experience

Must be able to travel locally and pass background checks.

We had the honor of receiving funding from West Marshall LUCC, in partnership with the Community Foundation of Marshall County, to help promote and expand our Paws, Hooves, and Healing program.

We are incredibly grateful for the continued support from our local community. This investment is more than just funding—it is a reflection of the belief our community has in the importance of accessible, innovative mental health services. Because of this support, we are able to reach more individuals and families, create meaningful therapeutic experiences, and continue building a space where healing, connection, and growth can take place.

L.U.C.C. (Leaders Uplifting our Community with Charity) from West Marshall High School provided a grant to Quakerdale Family Services - at the Wolfe Ranch for their Paws, Hooves and Healing Program. They will be purchasing sensory & calming tools and other outdoor recreational equipment.

Take a peek into equine therapy with Matt 🐴

Today, Matt helped us try out a new therapeutic tool designed to support emotional growth, confidence, and regulation. As he carefully navigates through the obstacle, clients are encouraged to slow down, communicate clearly, and stay present—skills that translate directly into everyday life.

Equine therapy creates a powerful space where individuals can practice patience, problem-solving, and emotional awareness in real time. Horses like Matt provide immediate, honest feedback, helping clients better understand their own responses and build stronger connections.
