🥎 COMMUNITY COMING TOGETHER! 🛠️

Today was a great example of what the Marshalltown Softball Association is all about!

A group of volunteers from Cubanos, Unhittables, and the Inmates took time out of their Sunday to come down to the South 6th Street Softball Complex and replace the roofs on our scorekeeping sheds.

These sheds have needed some attention for a while, and thanks to these volunteers, they’ve got brand-new roofs that will help protect them for years to come!

👏 A special thank you to Rachel and Salvador Zamora for stepping up, taking the lead, and spearheading this entire project. From getting people together to making sure the work got done, your time and effort are greatly appreciated!

We also want to recognize MSA President Adam Gorsuch for donating the shingles needed to complete the project.

And of course, a HUGE thank you to everyone from Cubanos, Unhittables, and the Inmates who showed up, brought their tools, and put in the work today. Your willingness to give back to the complex and the softball community doesn’t go unnoticed!

The Marshalltown Softball Association is a volunteer-run organization, and projects like this are a reminder that it takes more than just a board of directors to keep our complex going. It takes players, teams, families, and community members who care enough to pitch in.

This is what community softball is all about. It’s more than just showing up to play a game. It’s taking pride in our facilities, supporting one another, and working together to make things better for everyone.

From all of us at the Marshalltown Softball Association, THANK YOU! 👏🥎

🌧️🥎 ALRIGHT, WE TRIED… BUT TONIGHT’S GAMES ARE POSTPONED 🥎🌧️

We really wanted to get some games in tonight, but it’s just not looking good. It’s still raining, and it looks like we’re going to continue dealing with rain through the evening.

We reached out and got input from the teams that were scheduled to play, and we appreciate everyone who responded. At the end of the day, we also have to think about player safety. Wet fields, wet grass and slick conditions increase the chances of somebody slipping or getting hurt, and it’s just not worth taking that chance.

So unfortunately, ALL GAMES FOR TONIGHT, SEPTEMBER 29TH, ARE POSTPONED.

We know this is frustrating. Trust us, we’re frustrated too. Three weeks of dealing with rainouts and rescheduling is getting pretty ridiculous, but there’s only so much we can do with the weather.

We’ll get tonight’s games rescheduled and notify team managers with the new dates, times and fields once everything is updated.

Thanks to everyone for the feedback and for continuing to work with us through this crazy stretch of weather. 🥎☔

09/29/2026

The more we’re discussing it, the more we’re leaning toward postponing all of tonight’s games.

But before we make that call, we want to hear specifically from the players and teams who would actually be out there playing in the rain tonight.

What do you guys think?

🥎 Do you want to play and get the games in, even if it’s raining?

🌧️ Or would you rather postpone and play another night?

We hear that people want more input when decisions like this are made, so here’s your chance. If you’re affected by tonight’s games, let us know what you want to do.

We need to make a decision soon, so drop your thoughts in the comments.

09/29/2026

UPDATE: All three East Field games from September 29th have now been rescheduled. Team managers should have received a notification with the new date, time, and field for each game.

Please visit MarshalltownSoftball .org to view the updated schedules. The website link is also available in the About section of this page. 🥎

MSA UPDATE FOR TONIGHT – TUESDAY, SEPT. 29 🥎🌧️

Here’s the plan for tonight.

Because of all the rain we’ve had, the City hasn’t been able to mow the fields for about two weeks, so there was quite a bit of grass that needed to be cleaned up on all three fields.

They were able to get Center and West cleaned up, prepped and chalked today before the rain started, but unfortunately they weren’t able to get to East Field in time.

Rather than cancel another entire night, we’re going to get as many games played as we can.

✅ CENTER & WEST FIELD GAMES ARE ON AS SCHEDULED.

❌ EAST FIELD GAMES ARE POSTPONED:

• 6:30 PM – Base Invaders vs. Lab Monkeys
• 7:30 PM – MoTown Misfits vs. Unhitables
• 8:30 PM – Base Invaders vs. Unhitables

Those three games have now been rescheduled. Please check the updated schedules at MarshalltownSoftball. org for the new dates, times, and fields.

It’s probably going to be raining, and yes, you may get a little wet. ☔ But at this point, continuing to postpone full nights is going to push us too far into the season and create even more scheduling issues.

So we’re going to get the Center and West games in tonight if we can.

Bring an umbrella, maybe an extra shirt, and we’ll see you out there. 🥎🌧️

🥎 COED SCHEDULE UPDATE 🥎

The coed games that were rained out Friday have officially been RESCHEDULED! 🙌

Please head to the About section of our page and use the MSA website link there to check the updated coed schedule for your new game date and time.

Apparently Facebook now limits how often pages can post links, so we’re working around that one. 🤦‍♂️

We’ve had more than our share of rain delays lately, so hopefully we can finish out the rest of the season without Mother Nature causing any more problems. 🤞🌧️

Thanks again to everyone for being patient and flexible with all the schedule changes.

See you at the diamonds! 🥎

🚨 COED GAMES POSTPONED AGAIN 🚨

Here we go again. Unfortunately, tonight’s Coed games are being postponed. The fields are still too wet from all the rain we’ve had, and with more rain expected, there just isn’t a realistic way to get them playable for tonight.

We know this is frustrating, and we apologize. Trust us, we’re just as ready to get back on the fields as everyone else, but at this point the weather is completely out of our hands.

In the last two weeks, we’ve managed to play one league night. Everything else has been postponed because of rain and saturated fields. That’s pretty ridiculous. 🌧️🥎

Tonight’s games will be rescheduled, and we’ll get the updated dates, times, and fields posted as soon as we have them worked out.

Thanks for continuing to hang in there with us. Hopefully we can eventually remember what dry dirt looks like. 😂
