✨ Five years of color in the 13th Street District!

Can you believe it’s already been five years since artist Kim Carlino transformed this space with the Rotary Mural?

Completed in 2021, the mural was created to bring an energetic and inspiring presence to the 13th Street District, turning an everyday space into something vibrant, welcoming and uniquely Marshalltown.

Five years later, it’s still a beautiful reminder of what can happen when we invest in creativity and the spaces around us. Public art doesn’t just change a wall. It can transform how a place feels, create a sense of belonging and give our community something to be proud of.

Here’s to five years of the Rotary Mural!

What’s your favorite mural in Marshalltown? Tell us in the comments!

Another phase in the process at the Downtown Pocket Park! 🎨

A huge thank you to local artist Loren Chantland for lending his creativity and talents to this evolving public art project!

Piece by piece, this park continues to take shape through the hands of our local community. We’re grateful to our project partners, Marshalltown Central Business District: A Main Street Community and Marshalltown Parks and Recreation Department, for being part of the process.

Stay tuned as we continue to share the progress and see who else will take pART in bringing it to life!
