Having a servant’s heart means to not only put other’s needs ahead of our own, but to serve with the right motivation—and that is to put God’s will first. Rewards, recognition or even gratitude cannot be the motivation to live out true servanthood the way Jesus did.

Another wonderful evening at the House of Compassion tonight, lots of compliments on the spaghetti this evening (it was a hit!).

Thank you to you all who come to serve and help make it all happen, teamwork makes the dream work and boy do we have a wonderful team of servants who are set to have their hands in when it comes to serving the community. We are truly blessed!!!!

As I am sitting here this evening I came across this quote and it sparked something within me.

You (The Community) have done this for not only myself (Darria), but for all of those who come to help serve to make HOME happen. You’re the light that rekindles that spark within us all, just by seeing your faces.

We appreciate you, we see you, we love you, and are so grateful to continue to be able to serve this community and it’s needs.

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

From the youngest to the oldest we all love having our hands and feet in on the H.O.M.E Ministry.

Making a way for the community of Marshalltown and surrounding areas to have a place to come and gather clothing, shoes, and other miscellaneous items as well as providing lunch boxes for those who want them.

We are truly blessed to be able to continue this ministry in serving the community.

The House of Compassion holds a special place in our hearts here at New Life Church - Marshalltown IA HOME ministry!!!

I can not stress enough to people who want to be involved within the community.

House of Compassion is the place to be!!! You will meet so many wonderful people of all different backgrounds as well as getting the chance to serve them and hear their life’s stories. There’s so much beauty in it!!!

If you’re ever wanting to get your hands and feet in the door and are willing to lend a hand to cook a meal and help this wonderful establishment out, I would highly recommend talking with Chad or Maryna and seeing what availability they have for you.

As for us, we love and enjoy our first Sunday of the month meal for the community and being able to connect with each person that comes through the door, it’s rewarding and gives everyone a chance to allow the people we serve to know that they’re loved, cared for, and not alone.

Hello EVERYONE!!!!

This Sunday (NEW YEARS DAY!!!), January 1st we will be at the House of Compassion doing what we all love to do…. SERVING YOU ALL IN THE COMMUNITY!!!

We can’t wait to see all of your smiling faces and I know some kiddos that get just as excited for this day to come.

We are looking forward to seeing you all for the New Year of 2023!!!!
