The Free Youth Golf Clinic was a SUCCESS!!⛳️⛳️⛳️🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️

We want to give a big shoutout to the Marshall Golf Course, along with Trevor Howald and Devon Hendrix for putting this on for our charity and teaching the kids the basics of golf. The children were engaged and eager to learn and get better! They had fun in the sun and we all enjoyed the snacks on our breaks. Also the BIGGEST thank you to Chase's mom Susan Switzer for the delicious homemade cinnamon rolls!!

It was a perfect way to give back to the children of our community with something Chase Switzer would have loved. We are also looking forward to hosting more events like this in the future. Reach out to us if you have any good ideas!

On our behalf, we would also want to thank all the businesses, sporsors, and amazing volunteers that come together to support these fundraisers and events. They would not be possible without you all.

💙 Thank you for helping us honor Chase and make a difference in our community. 💙

Thank You, Marshall Golf Course and Diamond Sponsors! ⛳

We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to Marshall Golf Course for your outstanding hospitality during the 2nd Chase Switzer Memorial Golf Outing. Your support and welcoming atmosphere helped make this year's event a tremendous success, and we are incredibly thankful for your partnership.

As a token of our appreciation and our shared commitment to growing the game of golf, we were honored to donate three sets of golf clubs for public use at the course—two youth sets for younger golfers and one set for high school students who are interested in learning and playing the game. We hope these clubs provide opportunities for more young people and community members to experience and enjoy golf, regardless of whether they have their own equipment.

A special thank you goes to our Diamond Sponsors, Thompson Thrift and B&T Drainage, Inc. Your generous support helped make this event possible and continues to make a meaningful impact on our mission to honor Chase's legacy, support our community, and introduce more young people to the game of golf. We are truly grateful for your partnership and commitment.

Thank you again to everyone at Marshall Golf Course for your generosity, hospitality, and dedication to making golf accessible to all. We look forward to continuing this partnership for years to come!

Tonight was a special night for us as we awarded the very first Youth in Ag Scholarship to Lane Perry. Lane is a senior at Marshall High School. He served as the president for the Marshall FFA chapter as well as FFA Section 20. He is a candidate for the 2026-2027 Illinois FFA officer team. Lane looks forward to becoming an Oklahoma State Cowboy to continue his education in AG Business. His nominators praised his strong work ethic and his passion for agriculture.

Zach had the chance to visit his farm, present the scholarship check, and see his 4-H cattle projects. It’s always good to see young people working hard, caring for their animals, and carrying on the agricultural way of life that means so much to our community.

We started this scholarship to support local youth who have a passion for agriculture, and we couldn’t have picked a better first recipient.

We want to thank the teachers, 4H leaders, and other community leaders who provided thoughtful nominations. We look forward to your help in the years to come.

Congratulations again, Lane. We’re proud of you and excited to see where the future takes you.

Dear Clark County Educators and Community Leaders,

Martin Family Charities is excited to announce the launch of our new Youth in Ag Scholarship — a $500 award presented twice each year to outstanding Clark County, Illinois high school students who show passion, dedication, and a strong work ethic in agriculture.

The Youth in Ag Scholarship celebrates young people who are shaping the future of the agricultural community. We invite teachers, counselors, 4-H and FFA leaders, employers, and community members to nominate deserving students who demonstrate leadership, integrity, and a commitment to agriculture.

“We created the Youth in Ag Scholarship to honor hardworking young people who are truly the future of farming and agricultural innovation,” said Zachary Martin, representative of Martin Family Charities. “Throughout the years of participation and supporting organizations like 4-H and FFA, I have witnessed a love and dedication for agriculture. That dedication has inspired us, and we’re proud to invest in their growth.”

🐄 Eligibility
Nominees must:

Be enrolled in a Clark County, Illinois high school or home school.

Show interest and involvement in agriculture (through school programs, 4-H, FFA, employment, or related experiences)

Exhibit strong character and work ethic

✏️ Nomination Process
Nominations must be submitted by a non-family member (e.g., teacher, counselor, 4-H leader, employer).
Each nomination should include:

A summary of the student’s involvement in agriculture

A statement explaining why the student deserves the Youth in Ag Scholarship

Contact information for both the nominator and nominee

🌾 Award Schedule
Two $500 scholarships will be awarded each year:

Spring Scholarship

Nominations accepted from October 2 – March 1

Winner announced by April 1

Fall Scholarship

Nominations accepted from March 2 – October 1

Winner announced by November 1

Each $500 scholarship may be used toward education-related expenses such as tuition, books, or program fees.

Thank you for helping us celebrate and support the next generation of agricultural leaders in Clark County!

P.S. Our goal is to make this a quarterly award rather than semiannual. Please feel free to share this with other community leaders whom you believe will help spread the word and continue to grow this scholarship.
