Happy Labor Day!

Our senior center will be closed on Monday, September 7, in observance of Labor Day.

We hope you enjoy the holiday and take some time to relax, spend time with loved ones, and enjoy the last days of summer!

We’ll see you back at the center on Tuesday, September 8.

A senior center is more than a place to play cards, take a class, or grab a cup of coffee. It’s a place to connect, make friends, try something new, find support, and feel like you belong.

As part of the City of Marshall, MN and Marshall Community Services we’re proud to provide a place where adults 55+ can stay active, engaged, and connected. And while we’re located in Marshall, our doors are open to those from Marshall and the surrounding communities.

Over the past few months, we’ve asked the people who come through our doors what the center means to them. Their answers say it best.

Take a minute to see what our senior center is all about and hear directly from the people who make it special.

Whether you’ve been coming for years or you’ve never walked through our doors, there’s a place for you here.

Our Men's event took "flight" today...we welcomed Vince Laporte and learned about his drone flying passion and skills. We viewed some video of his drone footage he has taken and watched him fly a couple different style drones.
Following the presentation, he joined our guests to continue drone conversation and enjoy some tasty treats. Thanks to the Southwest Initiative Foundation for sponsoring these delicious snacks for another meaningful event.

Today we welcomed Tylor from Southwest Health and Human Services, Pipestone office, to tell us all about the Prescription drug deactivation bags. They are very easy and convenient to use. Our guests each got to take some home with them to safely dispose of their old expired or un-used prescriptions.

Unit 6 of our WITS Workout program was a hoot! Laughter is truly "The Best Medicine." We learned how laughter reduces stress and just makes us feel better. We matched comedians with their descriptions, random acts of silliness, Silly Synonyms and ended with Laughter Yoga 😆 🤣 😂

Thank you to the Southwest Initiative Foundation and the Paul and Alma Schwan Aging Trust Endowment Fund for sponsoring this program.
