Where do I begin… Marshall you out did yourselves again in 2025!
You brought such an outstanding community spirit and support for each other to make the Roost what it will be for decades to come.
First, THANK YOU MHS Alumni Association Board of Directors!!!
People don’t realize the infrastructure/groundwork from legalities, to finance, to tax statements, and etc, etc… that needs to be done correctly to make this big of event happen. So, thank you to beyond infinity to President Tracy Dixon-Crumbaugh who fully put together the Rusty Wilder Car Show/Cruise Night and helped start with her son and VP of the board, Nathan Crumbaugh, the Owl Shoot-Out Alumni Trap Shoot, which was a wonderful success for the first time. Plus, Tracy oversaw all the delicious vendors you saw on the Square. She is a rockstar for the Alumni in more ways than one …
Also, Leigh Ann Riley, the Alumni secretary, who kept track of all the stuff I forgot from past meetings with her excellent meeting minute records and singularly did all the work for the Retired Teacher’s Luncheon which was a huge success again.
And then, Lori Matheis, our treasurer, utilizing her awesome accounting talents to keep us in line with finances and making sure our bills are paid.
How ‘bout the new Roost co-chairs, Kelly Cassell Boyer and Penny Reith Shannon, who took this event to another level. Penny making the 80’s party an epic get together and Kelly making sure we had our registration committee going and golf carts rolling, the Roost couldn’t be in better hands going forward.
And then all our wonderful premier sponsors, without their amazing generosity, this event couldn’t happen. They are all so invested in the betterment of our Marshall community.
*MHS grad Kameron Godsey, the creator of the original Roost logo design, was always willing to go the extra mile when we needed another event document change request.
Lauren Hare Reyes also kept the Alumni humming like a top for the last 4 years.
Lori Godsey and Larry Godsey who allowed us to use Montague’s anytime for the Roost’s homebase for any meetings and gave their all with hosting the 80’s Party.
Sandy Hisle and Steve Hisle who killed it with another successful ‘70’s Party and helping with stage production.
Heather Arth and Gary Arth for making sure we had the essentials with porta-pots and trash barrels.
Susan Carney for putting together the Tennis gathering, and my adopted Hayob clan of Tom, Steve, Mike, and Quaid for making the Golf outing a success again.
And for sure, thank you to all our Class Contacts who I hounded for 6 years to make sure we got the word out to as many alumni as possible.
Thanks to all the event venues, including Marshall High School, Bud’s Cafe, Break of Dawn Café, Montague’s, The Leaning Side, Holiday Lanes, Saline County Shooting Sports Complex, Salt Fork YMCA, Indian Foothills Golf Course, and the Saline County Courthouse.
But especially, the MARSHALL SQUARE businesses who allowed us to graciously borrow their Square for a couple of days.
And for all those numerous people that have been to the meetings, taken my bribes (lol), pitched in on projects and thrown in their support in countless ways, you know who you are. Thank You So Much!!
Finally, and most importantly, to all my immediate MHS grad family members, especially my unbelievable wife, Geila Swift Renard, who has hung in there with unwavering support for this endeavor for over 6 years. Plus, my two beautiful daughters, Sara and Kellen, grandson Vance, and my extended family of in-laws, Greg and Deb (Rinne) Swift, Steve and Cindy (Swift) Hayob, and my nephews Keenan, Quaid, and Drew who have all stepped up without question for anything that needed to be done.
I’m sure I missed someone, and I apologize if so, but know that I appreciate all you MHS Alumni for believing in yourselves and making our Marshall a great place to be!
Thanks for letting me be a part of it. God Bless- Ron
